i have not been Dx with this problem because i never told anyone about it until today, because.. well it didn't bother me till today...
i woke up this morning to find that some how last night i must have managed to walk myself into the bathroom and done something with the toilet brush because i found it sitting in the sink ( its ok you can laugh because i did.. i was thinking "oh man i hope i didn't brush my teeth with that!") and the lid of the bowl was up and it was unflushed so i must have used the bathroom..
also i crate my dog at night because if i don't he will run wild.. i know i latched his crate before i went to sleep but when i woke up he was sleeping in the bed with me.. so i must have let him out.. there is no way he could have even pawed his way out and he has never tried.
thing is i remember none of what happened i mean nothing and to top it all off i have 2 nice little cuts on my hand that were not there when i went to sleep.. like maybe i fell/ran into something.. i have had times before where i at least remember something of what happened but not this time.. i don't know how dangerous this is and if there is anything that can be done about it other then chaining myself to the bed at night..
i thought to myself today after all of this wow what if i walk right out the into the middle of the road one night..
who do i talk to about this? family DR? Neuro?
any input would be helpful.. this really freaked me out today..

I would go to a ABSM (American Board of Sleep Medicine) sleep specialist.. I have sleep walked all my life.. but it was a side effect of extreme sleep deprivation brought on by sleep apnea. I can not say your issue is sleep apnea, I do not know enough of your situation; but sleep walking is serious.
I did get out of the house when I was ten.. my parents caught me running about in the neighboring horse pasture in my PJs.. I woke up dirty and scared with no recall of getting out of the house.. after that and special locks on the door.. put of my reach I would just vacuum, wash dishes, and do laundry in my sleep. Waking up the next day to pink whites and strange looks from my family. The GP/Family practicioner said it was just an active mind and that I would grow out of it.. I didn't, but it became an odd quirk and I didn't mind getting housework done while I was sleeping it left more time for me to do other things when I was awake.
Things amplified when I got pregnant and my health began to seriously decline.. it wasn't until I was 31 that a MD finally thought to check for sleep apnea. I was tested and had it.. severe sleep apnea I stopped breathing 60 times an hour. I have not slept walked since I was diagnosed with sleep apnea over a year ago and began under going CPAP treatment for it. Now the only downside.. I have to find the time to clean. :(
My son also has severe sleep apnea. It is hereditary. GO and get a sleep study done.. they will be best suited to help you.
Sincerely,
MG
