I've been reading this board for awhile, and finally decided to post. I just had the scaling done yesterday. OMG. So far no pain, but I bled so bad all evening last night I had to make an emergency trip to the office to have it packed.

How many days does it usually bleed? How long does it take to heal?

That depends on how deep it was and your body's own natural healing process or ability. Follow any instructions the dentist may have provided since that will help such as rinsing or not brushing, etc. Since you now have packing it will probably heal much quicker.
