A friend of mine's eye was hurting and upon visiting her eye doc found that there was debris on her contact lenses. She stopped wearing them, ordered a new pair and was fitted for a new eyeglass prescription at the time of her visit. She went back to the doc to be fitted for her new glasses and they did NOT seem right! She and the doctor were puzzled because she had JUST been fitted for this new prescription the week before!!
He then sent her to an ophthalmologist -- initially he thought the reason for the deterioration was because she had been fitted with contact lenses that were not physiologically right for her eye but when he found out that she hadn't been WEARING the lenses for at least a week, he felt that it must be something else. The original eye doctor says that my friend's prescription has NOT changed since her fitting although there IS something wrong with her vision (burrier, etc.)
Now both docs have told her to just wait it out for a week to see if her vision gets better on its own although she is also going to make an appointment with another eye doctor. Looks like they think it might all be due to the original problem with debris on the lenses, that she kept on putting them back in her eyes and spreading around the bacteria. If anyone has input as to whether or not it could be this simple and the best way to recover, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
