Is this ever going to end!! All of my friends have been period free for at least 2 to 3 years or longer. Here I am ,once again with tender breasts ,bloating ,eating everything in sight, and waiting for my period to start ...right on time. I feel like the oldest person out there still having regular periods. Am I the only one. ? I need to commiserate with someone.
On the plus side...my skin looks fabulous! :) .... Kat

Oh, Kathryn, I do sympathise. My periods finished after a D & C operation at the age of 50.
At what age did your periods begin? Mine started at 11. Could this have something to do with it?

I'll be 54 in a couple of months and am still regular. I started my periods months after my 15th birthday. I have a friend who was still having periods at 60. You probably didn't want to hear that. :)

OMG...60!!!! Well like I said ..guess I should look on the bright side. My skin looks great. :) I'm still trying to think of other positives ..my breasts look good, and when they're engorged they look great! Hardly saggy at all. Hmmm ,that's about it. ...At least I know I'm not the only one ....
thanks  ... Kat

I'll be 53 in a couple of weeks and still going strong and regular as ever. During a recent exam my GYN told me that he has a patient who is 57 and still regular. BTW, I too started when I was 11 but I don't think that's really a factor. Each of us is unique, starting and stopping, each with our own unique clock. I sure wish my alarm would go off though. I am ready to be done with this, especially the PMS!

I am 55 and have not had my period in one year. Does this mean i am "DONE"...??..I have heard that you have to be without it for one complete year to officially be through........Hope so.........Last year i was skipping months but last May it just stopped and nothing since. ...bride527

They say you are post menopause if you haven't had a period in 12 months, but that is not a hard rule. Many women will have some spotting or another period past that mark and things are just fine. I am curious when you said you were skipping months before you stopped last May. I have been skipping every other month like clock work. Did you ever do that? I wonder if one of my ovaries has already shut down for some reason and that's why I am in this every 60 day pattern. Enjoy being post menopause, I hope you are symptom free! Ann

Like i said, it has been 12 months so we will see!!.. I have been feeling really good for the past year, I had a hard time when peri actually started for me. About 7 years ago, i started with anxiety which i never had before. Hated it but i worked through it.........I would have hot flashes here and there but not that often. I am hoping the worst is behind me now.....Bride527
