I'm scheduled for the first of two crown appointments this Wednesday. Does it really take an hour and a half? I thought the dentist told me 40-50 minutes (last October when I had the root canal done), but the receptionist says an hour and a half.

My dentist told me it will take 2 1/2 hrs for a bridge and 3 crowns, so that's probably right.

Thanks for the response. So the temp crown isn't the same stuff that has been in my tooth since last October? It's only going to be in for a week as I am scheduled for the permanent crown next week. I guess I'll find out on Wednesday.

i have had several crowns and it has always been an hour appointment. they do a couple of impressions and then you're done. what you have in your tooth is probably the core. they usually do a post and a core.. filling in the roots and the center of the tooth. that stays there. hope this helps. God bless:angel:

I know there is a post in there because he showed it to me before he put it in. Looked like a screw.
