Anyone with bladder and bowel spasms? I can feel my bladder doing back flips and bowel spams. Yesterday I had stomach cramps so bad, but I didnt eat anything out of the ordinary. Today I feel much better.

Peels, incontinence is the number one symtom of MS complaints...welcome to our world. Usually it starts out much like a muscle spasm. It can last this way for years...eventually, when the muscle can no longer support the bladder, incontinence starts. Now would be a good time to talk to your doctor about exercises you can do, and make 100% sure you dont have any kind of bladder infection or somthing different which might be causing it...
good luck.

I am going to see the urologist next month, I mentioned this problem to my Neuro and he is sending me. This is kind of embarassing but I have wet bed several times in the last month as well.

Dont be embarrassed. I do understand. Unfortunately, its not pleasant, but it is a problem with us MSers. There are meds now, which really do work, which will stop this from happening. Im glad you are seeing a urologist- thats a very smart way to do this. Sounds like you have a good neuro who is on top of your care...thats a really good thing! Youre in good hands..stay strong. This might be only a symtom, not permanent but seeing a urologist is a good way to find out..
take care..

I seem to have to opposite problem -- I usually have this "hesitation" when I really have to go and I feel like my bladder didn't empty all the way. I'm constipated almost constantly -- and when I DO go, it takes me a minute to remember HOW!

Hey everyone.
I know how you all feel. Most of the time I have a problem totally emptying my bladder and have a constant feeling of having to go (Especially in the middle of the night or I wake up with a HORRIBLE stomach ache) But just last week for the first time, I was trying to chase my dog, and I started to wet my pants. I have NEVER done this before. I also have extreme constipation
which I have had for years. :blob_fire

Hi,

i have had the jumpy bladder for years now and a jumpy colon. i am undx'd, but the neuro is 95% sure it's MS, but no dx yet. i was dx'd with interstital cystitis (IC) also 2 yrs ago - i have periods of pain in the bladder. I also go through times like Lisa_P where it's hesitant and takes me forever to empty the bladder or just getting it to start. I also go from loose bowels to constipated, like now -

hope you get some answers and wishing you well.

I have more problems with bowels. This sounds wierd. I will be anything and all of a siden my pants will fill wet. I go to bathroom and there is a little poop in my pants. I have no feeling of having to go.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share this amazing drug I started taking 2 weeks ago for bladder frequency and urgency. My doctor prescribed DETROL LA 4 mg. The LA stands for Long Acting. I take it every morning. I noticed the first day that I took it I slept from 9:00 in the evening right through to 3:00 am before I had to go to the bathroom not like before up every hour on the hour, how exhausting:yawn: On the May long weekend we travelled for 4 hours to our RV spot (no bathroom stop totally blown away and extremely happy) no gross:p :p outhouse visits. According to my doctor she prescribes this drug to her elderly patients who tolorate it very well. The only side effect I experienced was a dry mouth. Research it and talk to your doctor about it. It can't hurt and may help. Please let me know how you make out if you decide to give it a try. Good Luck and Best Wishes!

I have bladder problems and bowel problems too. I finally got a prescription for Detrol La and it seems to help. Other end of it, however, it's either one extreme (tmi) or the udder.
