i bought a new bicycle this weekend and was excited to get biking. well i did and now my bottom is killing from the seat! i dont mean just a little tender, it hurts to sit down (anywhere) and KILLS when i get back on the bike. just wondering from anyone that bikes, is this something that gets better as i continue to bike? or do i need to get a better/softer seat?

I had the same problem. I went to Walmart and bought a padded seat cover. It made a big difference. My butt still gets a little sore though.

Agreed. A lot of the stock seats are crap. You'd think they actcyally expected you yo be biking standing up most of the time. One of those get-like seat covers is a cheap way to alleviate the problem. If the shape of your seat is uncomfortable, try a bike shop and find one that works better.

hey i'm a guy and i had that prob except it was a lot worse sometimes if i land the wrong way on it -- so i got some wide gel seat for $10 -- it doesnt go up my crack like the slim ones and its real mushy so its great for the long rides

I just wanted to add my 2 ents in agreement. These seat covers are a cheap and easy solution. Almost everyone in my spinning class brings them along to the gym!
