View Full Version : Should I go to the hospital?

I was diagnosed with Hep B 2 years ago. I was hospitalized for two weeks but since then I have not received any treatment. I do not have insurance. I have had no symptoms for a year and a half. Suddenly I have been experiencing pain around my ribcage for the last week. This pain is bad enough to prevent me from doing everyday tasks like the dishes; about a 7 on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst. Also, I am very fatigued. I am going to see a doctor, but I have to apply for government healthcare and with all the paperwork, I will not see a specialist for at least 2 months. By law, they can't refuse me treatment if I go to the hospital, but I usually only go to a hospital if I am in excrutiating pain; if I take a couple of Advil, my pain would be manageable, but maybe I need to be seen? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Do you have any sort of free health clinic in town?

Also, is there a possibility this could be gall bladder, and not your liver?

Wow. How simple. I called United Way helpline and they referred me to a free clinic. Thanks for your help!

I'm so glad they found a clinic for you quickly. I hope you find out what's going on soon. It sounds a lot like gall bladder to me, but I'm no doctor. :)
