dma11663 04-30-2007, 11:55 AM Does anyone know what the cost is (I know it varies) of a 4 tooth fixed bridge in the NY area? Approximate? Thelma-Louise 04-30-2007, 12:08 PM Probably about $1K to $1.5K per tooth - I would think about $6K -$8K for the bridge which would include impressions, prepping the teeth, temps and the perms - could be more or less depending on your location and the dentist. They ususally charge the same as they would for crowns. dma11663 04-30-2007, 12:51 PM Thank you. Prepping the teeth meaning what? The grinding down or root canal? Thank you very much. Thelma-Louise 04-30-2007, 04:00 PM The filing or grinding them down. A rc would be additional. I know most dentists recommend the rc before a crown or bridge is done but its not always necessary. A lot has to do with the current condition of the tooth (if it has an older and deep filling or is fractured or cracked) and how much the dentist removes in prepping it. Lexijones99 04-30-2007, 07:30 PM I'm in PA. I'm having one done next month and it's costing me $4,000. How bad are the temps? Do they really look fake? Do they fall off? SPENCER1968 05-01-2007, 11:04 PM I have a bridge on my front tooth (lost root and all) living in NJ. I just paid $990.00 just for the tooth because it recently fell out which lasted 9 years and I think the bridgework is another $2 to 3 thousand which will have to wait until 2008 for now it's glued in Temporarily. Can you believe one tooth 990.00, man how much do they charge for dentures (not that I want that)! Expensive..... dma11663 05-02-2007, 04:34 PM Let me get this straight. a 4 tooth bridge would run between 6 and 8 thousand dollars????????? How are people supposed to pay for this? My goodness. If I am missing 2 teeth in the back and they have to do root canal on the one behind and the one in front. a 4 tooth bridge would run this? Also......Did you say Lexijones that you are having one done for 4,000? Everything? 4 teeth? Thanks. Also......Did you say Lexijones that you are having one done for 4,000? Everything? 4 teeth? Thanks. Yes, it includes the bridge, requiring 3 crowns. No root canals. dma11663 05-03-2007, 01:33 PM Hi Lexi, Thanks. Okay....so it is around 1,000 per tooth. 4,000 for 4 teeth. Are you in need of root canals? How much is a root canal. I know my dentist charges over 1,000 for a root canal. Lexijones99 05-03-2007, 08:51 PM No, I don't need an root canals. Around here, the crowns do run around $1,000/tooth. So do veneers. dma11663 05-04-2007, 03:34 PM I thought it was a given to get root canals to the surrounding teeth??? So they grind down your teeth w/o root canals to fix the bridge? Ok...thank you you've been a help. Good luck. Lexijones99 05-04-2007, 08:20 PM Uh oh, I hope not. SPENCER1968 05-07-2007, 09:54 PM Have you ever thought of getting an implant? I went to a different dentist today who offered to grind my two teeth next to my missing one (root canal is not required) - cost approx $3,000 I am leaning for the implant of approx $5,000. I cannot justify ruining two more good teeth..... Good Luck! twokatss 05-07-2007, 10:53 PM Whatever you do, do NOT get an implant. I have had nothing but trouble since getting one done. Infections and a C-Difficle like illness for 4 months. I think people are too prone to infection after implants. I found this out after I had mine done. dma11663 05-08-2007, 02:12 PM I heard implants may or may not take. I don't know the thought of drilling into my jaw bone makes me a little weak. I also think grinding down 2 good teeth is a shame as well. I don't know.........I get confused. Vergie 05-08-2007, 05:53 PM Whatever you do, do NOT get an implant. I've read that implants have NOT yet been perfected, and can cause major problems with infections etc...Also heard that with people who have a type of arthritis are not candidates of implants due to bones[including mouth] will deterioate eventually...Were you treated, and did you have implants removed??...Vergie Lexijones99 05-09-2007, 04:52 PM I'm getting a permanent bridge w/ crowns, too. My periodontist told me that I'm not a good candidate for an implant, so I guess it depends on the person. He said that usually people who have some type of trauma do not do well with implants. dma11663 05-10-2007, 12:27 PM One more question. How many teeth in front and behind do you have to attach the bridge to? twokatss 05-10-2007, 07:21 PM One in front and one behind. dma11663 05-11-2007, 10:12 AM Thank you. My dentist told me sometimes he likes to do 2 in front. Why is that? More $$$? LOL! |
