It all started 2 Fridays ago, I got heartburn symptoms, burning in my chest area, bloaty, etc. I started taking prilosec and things got a wee bit better... I went to the dr. on the next Wed. he did an ekg, and everything looked good, he then felt around my stomach area and decided he wanted to do an ultrasound, just in case, rule out gall bladder, etc. so then next night I was panicky, having the same syptoms, etc. not feeling right, so I went to the er, they did nothing, and said I was fine, and sent me home with a diagnosis of gastritis.. I took some gas x and went about my business.. the next night I went out for a bachelorette party and started to notice I kept getting a deisre to try and get a deep breath and sometimes had a hard time doing that.. this went on all night and has been everyday since then, a total of 5 days now.... I still have the upper abdomen bloating, no appetite, and a weird sensation in my chest area, when moving certain ways, like something is moving in there... this happens when I wake in the morning and move to my back from my side, etc.feels very very weird.... I am waiting on ultrasound results, although the tech said off record everything looked ok...... Any thoughts?? I was looking into hiatal hernia possibly.. looks like doc decided I have GERD, it was on my ultrasound paperwork... any help, anyone have simialr experience, etc. will help. Thanks!!!

This is exactly where I have been for almost a year now. It is a terrible feeling and I'm sorry you are going through it.

I have had numerous ultrasounds on my gall bladder and all appear okay. But, now my gastro doctor has decided that I need a different gall bladder test. Just because an ultrasound shows no stones does not mean that your gall bladder is okay. It simply means there are no stones. He told me that your gall bladder can still be not functioning or can be diseased and this will only show with a diagnostic function test. The ultrasounds will not show that. My sister-n-law had my exact symptoms about 4 years ago and her gall bladder was dead. After they removed it, she has had no more trouble.

I was just in the ER yesterday for the exact thing that you said sent you to the ER. I have days where I feel like someone is sitting on my chest it is so bloated. Hang in there.......ask for a different test.

That seemed to be the docs guess, as he ordered the ultrasound with special attention to the gallbladder... my best friends mom is the nurse in my office as well, and she stated the same thing, she had same symptoms and has hers out too, and it got better.... I just want to find something out and get some relief... I feel like crap right now.... I cannot get a good deep breath:(

Hope you feel better soon. The thing is.....even if the ultrasound doesn't show anything.....don't do like I did and just decide you have to live with it....you don't. I have lost 35lbs now and feel miserable all the time. I wouldn't be going through this if I had insisted that they do the other test a few months ago instead of just accepting what they said from the ultrasound. Hang in there.

Hey there.I did get the ultrasound results, and everything looked ok. They have me scheduled for HIDA scan for a more intrusive test to look at the gall bladder... we'll see.

Good Luck. I had mine on Friday so hopefully I will get an answer on Monday. Let me know how your's turns out. My ultrasounds were always fine but my gastro doctor says that doesn't really mean anything. Hang in there.

Well, they did the HIDA scan and it came back showing my gallbladder is not up to par.. I ma having it out soon:) I am happy about this, but still scared. Scared I will have the operation and the symptoms will still be with me... Hopefully not, but I am just scared about that. I have had constant discomfort for the past 3 weeks, so I am not too optomistic:( On Sat. my chest pains were so bad, I swore I was having a heart attack:(

Well.... the surgeon is not wanting to take the gallbladder at this time.. He thinks my symptoms are too a-typical and he has ordered an endoscope... so who knows, we'll see.....

I think I posted on a different post about this but I'll say it again.

I have had those EXACT same symptoms. My dr originally said I had anxiety, then he said acid reflux, then he did testing (ultrasound and HIDA scan). All my bloodwork, upper Gi and the ultrasound were normal. Then the HIDA scan showed only 16% ejection fraction ratio. I met with the surgeon and said she that I definately needed it out but that she wasn't convinced that my symptoms were from the galbladder b/c they were not the "classic" symptoms.

I have been feeling great after having the gallbladder taken out. However yesterday I was very anxious, nervouslike, I had a heavy feeling in my upper abdomen and today my chest was hurting. I also had the feeling of needing to take a HUGE deep breath. I'm feeling better now and all of those symptoms have gone away, for now.

I'm hoping that maybe it's just still going to take some time from the surgery but after feeling that way all day yesterday and half of today, I'm beginning to think my dr was right. It's possible I could have mild anxiety as well as the gallbladder problems.
