Hi All-
Just wanted to know if anyone has heard/seen about one hour implants. They are called Sargon Dental Implants, and they are very similar to the immediate load implants. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this, discussed it with their dentist, or even had the procedure done. Apparently its been on news stations and its very up and coming, can be used for single, multiple missing teeth... any thoughts??? You can easily use a search engine about this and find out information about it. It seems a lot less evasive and less recovery time...

I would appreciate it!

I have "teeth in a day" my doctor's also do "teeth in an hour" which is what your talking about. I know quite a bit about it. In order to get "teeth in an hour" generally your teeth are usually already gone or you may only need one pulled at that time.

It is a bit deceiving the term "teeth in an hour" this is generally the process in the chair for the procedure. Time before this will be spent on

a dental digital cat scan
traditional x-rays
sending your scans to a company that creates a computer imaging model that will fit in your mouth
fabricating your teeth
an exam to see if you are a candidate with enough bone

The only part you will be involved in is being there for the exam, x-rays and scans.

I will tell you that my procedure "teeth in a day" was wonderful and I loved leaving the operating room with a beautiful smile. My teeth at first were temporary teeth and I wore them for 5 months after which I was fitted with my permanent beautiful teeth. A smile I only dreamed of before.

Do you know what the exact procedure is called? I want to talk to my oral surgeon about it, I'm not sure many dentists in my area (NY/NJ) are doing it...I thought it was really new. Also, how many implants did you get?

Thanks so much for your information! You mentioned that your teeth are a prothesis bridge...with my partial its much like a retainer, with a piece in the roof of my mouth...is your mouth free of anything on the roof of your mouth??? I actually found a dentist in central NJ, where I live, that I believe does this procedure...I am in the process of contacting him and getting a consultation. Again, I appreciate all your help!

There are so many different ways of doing implants. If you have just 1 tooth that needs replaced you can just have the one implant and tooth like a crown. In my case all my teeth are gone. I have 8 implants on top and 6 on the bottom. My teeth are in one piece similar to a denture only that the teeth are encased in artificial gums. Then the device is screwed to the implants and cannot be removed except by the dentist and he doesn't even remove them for cleaning. The roof of my mouth isn't covered only the gum area. They look natural and beautiful.

These cannot be removed except by a dental professional and will not be removed even for regular cleanings. The prosthesis does not touch my gums See for yourself, this is very similar to what I have, see last picture:
