kismit1496 05-01-2007, 11:44 PM I had my cone March 13th and I now occassionally have odd pains here and there that last about an hour or so and wondering what the heck???? Anyone else have this???? Julie sharon7270 05-02-2007, 12:32 AM Still having them 9 months later...cervix is a very tender part of the body. I also had cone and still have twinges an cramps..I only have 1/4 cm of cervix left so my guess is that they took the majority of your cervix as well... sharon7270 05-02-2007, 12:55 AM As ridiculous as that seems...to me, my oncologist, my PCP, a second opinion ob/gyn...yes, I still just have a smidgen of a cervix left!!! My biopsies came back with unclear edges... CIS and severe dysplasia to the edges. I know on this site that they will tell you that carcinoma in situ and severe dysplasia are the same thing, but they are not. My oncologist explained it this way...severe dysplasia are cells that are PRE-cancerous...carcinoma in situ are cells that have become cancerous, but not spread beyond the cervix. Lump them as the same thing, all of you out there, but I highly doubt I would have been referred to an oncologist if my condition was PRE-cancerous...she couldn't get me there fast enough. I have biopsies every 2 months and a whole lot of worry and everyone says I should have had a hysterectomy. I have yet to have a normal pap or biopsy result...all say ASCUS, which means my cancer is coming back...but now I have no cervix, soooo? Anyway, don't ignore that pain...get a second opinion! kismit1496 05-12-2007, 12:08 PM Update - going to see Dr Monday morning have now been uncomfortable enough that I'm taking motrin and or darvocet every day for a week! Anyways hoping that its just stitches that didn't dissolve or something. I didn't hurt like this immediately after the cone so its kinda weird that it would hurt worse two months later! Yeah he did take a significant portion of my cervix and luckily I had clear margins. He still recommended a hysterectomy and so did the second opinion however my daughter has aplastic anemia and there are no bone marrow matches for her in the registry so I'm not ready to give up the idea of a sibling to help her! Thanks to all who responded |
