Your symptoms could be caused by any number of problems. Thyroid comes to mind first, but only because that's my problem. Thyroid issues can cause the vast majority of your symptoms. It can even cause your twitching, heavy menses, and anemia.

My second thought is that it could be Celiac, which is a sensitivity to gluten, and that can cause muscle spasms, fatigue, pain, dizziness, hot feet at night, and a whole host of other issues.

Don't let the dr write this off as anxiety. Either he listens to you or you find another dr.

Good luck and keep us posted! :)

I have similar symptoms and had thyroid tests. Mine came back okay. I have the pressure in my head, anxiety(which is very bad at times), heavy periods, numbness in my face, twitching eye, heavy fatigue that comes on suddenly, shortness of breath..... the list goes on. I have been tested for just about everything. Cardio and Neuro. I do get migraines also. Migraines can cause numbness. I would say that you should get tested for these issues you are having. If all turns out okay, then I would say that it's peri symptoms. T.

Shirley,
I just take it day to day. I can't take a lot of meds for my symptoms so I take multi vits and fish oil caps. I may have a couple of days a month where things really aren't too bad. I come here a lot and read the posts. It helps to know that you are not alone. Some days I do feel like throwing in the towel!! Hang in there and know that we will all come out of this eventually! Hi Shirley!

Celiac is sort of a chameleon disease. It has symptoms that can mimic heart problems, IBS, neurological disorders, etc. Your abdominal bloating, wind, anemia, fatigue, etc. are all symptoms of, if not Celiac, then at least a food sensitivity.

[removed] If you think this sounds like you, then definitely bring it up with your dr.

Good luck and hope you feel better! :)

I guess we are all in the same boat!

I've been suffering from many menopausal symtoms, a lot of what is mentioned above.

Hope we all come through it with flying colours, without the red hot flushes!:) .

Take care,
Barbs.

vicki,
Are you on anything for your anxiety and panic? Just wondered because of the loss of balance you are describing. T.

I started having perimenopausal symptoms about a month ago very similar to yours. I'm 44 - had a fibroid removed last summer. I have a lot of pressure by my left temple - feels like liquid is in my ear. Terrible tingling in my head and lots of headdaches. Bad fatigue, eye blurriness and eye strain, anxiety, also short of breath - this seemed to come out of nowehere. I have had a lot of dizzziness - had blood work done at my general doc, spent the night in the hospital thinking it was my heart and was about to see an ear specialist and neurologist but now I'm cancelling those appointments until I see a gyno doc and get my hormone levels checked. Menopause was the last thing I thought about when I started feeling this way - i hope this helps,

Don't forget to keep track of your blood pressure too. High BP can cause some of the symptoms you're experiencing. Seems like every since I started missing periods (a few years ago), my blood pressure sporatically goes up. I think its related to the hormones. Its usually worse when I miss periods. As a matter of fact, when I miss a period, that's usually when all the wierd stuff happens. Especially the heart pounding, anxiety, moodiness and extreme fatigue. Its tricky though because one day the BP can be pretty good, the next day I have stage one hypertension. We have to be more careful with our heart health at the menopause stage in life.
