Hello All ~

I have been on and off this site for some time now but rarely posted. I am starting my first IVF cycle and am extremely nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time. I start Lupron on 5-9 which would make for my retreival most likely over Memorial Day weekend.
I was wondering if any of your had been on Follistim along with Menopur. I am not too excited about taking three shots in one day but I guess if the outcome is positive it will be worth it. When I recieved my protocol it was the first time I heard of Menopur. Just wanted some feedback on it.

The shots are well worth it. I am clueless on meds for egg retrieval but I did want to say that when I was on lupron I was extremely hungry all the time! Good luck!

There is a thread right now called Spring IVF Girls and it talks a lot about those of us going through IVF for the first time right now. Make sure you check it out because there's a lot of good info in the thread.

I am using Lupron and Bravelle right now so I don't have the same meds as you but I am sure someone else does and will chime in.

I am also getting ready to start my first IVF, and I am using lupron, follistim, and menopur too! I started my lupron injections already and will begin stimming on 5/10. I would be more than happy to let you know how it all goes and to answer any other questions you may have before then. Just to let you know, I have never used injectibles before either, so I was quite nervous as well. The women on this board are so knowledgable and full of support...they calm my fears over and over again.

I have taken Menopur before once it helps in stimmulating the ovaries. I don't know much on Follistim.
As CBB mentioned, do check-out "Spring IVF" thread coz there are many women who are doing the IVF for the first time and they all are cycling together so you may want to join us there.

I justed wanted to chime in and say I am just about to begin my 1st IVF cycle. I am to start lupron Monday for stimming I will also be on Follistim and Menapur, taking the dreaded 3 shots a day. But if it achieves a BFP it will all be worth it!! If all goes well my e/r will be the 1 week of june or so. SO I will be right behind you.
