For the first few seconds of maximum intensity work, your body uses creatine phosphate (which it produces naturally). Supplementing creatine mainly keeps your creatine levels topped up so you can work at maximum intensity for a longer period (a few seconds more). Will power can't overcome this as its a chemical process that occurs in your body. Once you've used up your creatine supplies, thats it. You then need to rest for a couple of mins to allow the creatine phosphate to resynthasise.
