I just got the Mirena IUD placed two days ago and have not stopped bleeding since. It's like a medium flow period. Does this sound normal to you all?
I am breastfeeding and haven't had a period for four months now so I don't think this is a period.
I also can't feel the strings but will try again once the bleeding stops.

Hi! I had some weird bleeding immediately after insertion. Sounds like you don't know where you are in your mentrual cycle if you haven't had a period in 4 months. I was about mid-cycle when I had mine inserted (I've had it for 5 months now and still have some strange spotting here and there). My Doc said it's usually best to have it inserted the week of your period. That way the initial bleeding isn't so bad. I think what you are experiencing is normal...but call your Doc if need be.
