 I am 42 and have been experiencing a change in my period for the past year. I and my doctor think it is due to taking a different generic birth control pill. Next month I will start a different pill that never gave me a problem in the past. My period was always every 29 days for years. In March I got my period on a Saturday for 1 day. Then got it again the following week for 4 days. I have not had my period since then. Now 2 weeks late, certainly don't think I am pregnant, never late or forget pills, take them same time every day. Wondering if this is a symptom of prememopause??? My doctor just tells me it could be a side effect of the pill. Or wondering if this could of made my period missing???? I have for the past month started a low-fat diet and doing exercise, both I have never done in my life. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I do not run to the doctor for every little thing. I was there early April for my annual.

I wonder if the change in your period could be due to several of the things you mentioned. Diet and exercise can change your periods, but your not too young to be starting peri either. Many of us have fought symptoms since our late 30's. How long were you on the different generic pill? Again, that could cause a change in your period. Many people have problems with generic meds of any kind. The ingredients are supposed to be the same as brand name, but I wonder. I guess I would see if things straighten out in the next month or so on the new pill. Good luck, Ann
