7 (almost 8) weeks later, I'm still on my period. Dr. gave me progesterone and it did nothing. So now, he's giving me a high dosage of birth control pills. I'm supposed to take 3 pills a day until I run out of the one-month pack. (Oh, and of course, something to control the nausea this will obviously cause.)
Has anyone actually had this happen? Is this ridiculous?
At this point, I just want to stop bleeding.

Hi Kate,
So sorry you are going through this. I think this has happened to a few of the girls on the board I just can't reall who. That just sounds terrible. I hope she leaves and takes camp in some-one who is waiting for her to show up to start a new cycle and leave you alone!!

It's PCOS. Well, he's 98% sure...just wants to wait for my U/S on the 9th for the official diagnosis.
I had my bloodwork done on Tuesday. My iron is very low (borderline anemic) but my blood count is good. My testosterone is very high, as is my cholesterol.
From the sounds of it, he wants me to wait until my iron is back up before getting pregnant. (Not sure how to get pregnant right now with AF around anyway) Apparently if I get pregnant (and the same week, pigs fly) then it will push me over the end into anemia.
So it's birth control pills for a week or two, and then he's going to start me on Metformin. I've heard good things about it...can anyone tell me anything good? I'd like some good news!

I've been on 1350mg of Metformin for around 2 months. I've lost 13lbs, and my cycles are shorter than they've ever been in my entire life. Good luck!!
