If anyone has had recent surgery on parathyroids, how long did it take for the before surgery symptoms to go away? esp. the bone and joint pain? Did anyone have tingling anywhere other than fingertips and around mouth? I have it every else, and I had some before surgery as well. Doc says to add more calcium for a while. Been doing that, but still have tingling on and off, and never in the fingers & around the mouth. Still have pain which got worse immediately after surgery.......has subsided a little. Had surgery 2 weeks ago.
I did have multigland hyperplasia, even though scan & ultrasound showed only one bad gland. Love to hear about someone's after surgery symptoms, and length of time before improvement.

hi finalbuzzer....I have parathyroid surgery a few weeks ago. I notice some improvement but one side of my neck still sore and swollen. Also still have bone pain though not quite as severe...never had the tingling of low calcium but I hear you need to keep increasing calcium dose if that happens.
