*this is also posted on the epilepsy board, but i thought this might be a good board too

Hi there, I'm new to these boards - though not to epilepsy. After being seizure free for the best part of 10 years, it seems I have started having seizures of some form, in the past month or two, so today was put back on my medication..

Anyway, I'm on Tegratol (Carbomazpine?) and had to switch to the mini/progesterone only pill, becuase the combined pill becomes effective on Tegratol, unless you're on a high dose & due to family history of heart attacks & strokes, that isn't an option for me.

So my question is, WHEN do I switch to the new pill? I am due to start a new pack this Monday coming, but have to start the medication tonight. I guess the biggest problem if I went on the new contraceptive pill tonight, would be that my next period & cycle might be a bit crazy...

Anyone got any advice or suggestions??? My neuro is a male, and LOL he pretty much told me he had no idea about the pill so not to waste my breath
