The past few days i have had a pressure feeling on my top right gums and they are slightly more swollen than the other side. There is no pain, but my face feels like my sinuses might be blocked on the same side and i have had earache in my right ear for about 4 weeks (i have allergies). Can sinus affect gums? If it was an abcess, would it be painful? I've never had an abcess. I clean my teeth 2 or 3 times a day, use mouth wash and floss regularly and don't smoke. I think i have had it before, but it only lasted a day.

Hi Shakira,
I also have pain in my gums above two teeth I had root canals on under a bridge but my left ear feels blocked and my left nostril feels "full" also. I also have allergies and yes, they can definitely affect your upper teeth area. I just went thru antibiotics for a mysterious sinus infection I didn'tr know I had but had been very sick months back. It made most of the pain go away but still have some iin my teeth and gums on the left side. My case is different as I have other variables, but yes, you can have pain from teeth which travels to the sinuses, and vice versa. Your teeth sound well cared for so I would just make sure you keep your allergies under control and try irrigating your nostrils with warm water at least, or try Mucinex tablets and plenty of water to flush out whatever is in there while taking your regular allergy medicine. I use a cheap Walgreens brand, can't remember the name by its a little yellow pill, an antihistamine that doesn't cause drowsniness. Hope all resolves!

Thank you! It went away after a few days. I have a cold now! I have a Sterimar sea water nasal spray that i'm using to wash my nose out. Thanks!
