I've been dealing with this problem on and off for 2 years now. I have very little appetite, feel very nauseous and end up vomiting. It is usually triggered when I eat out at restaurants but in extreme cases I will feel sick without having eaten anything. Sometimes I will wake up in the morning and throw up.
Two years ago I had H. Pylori, and I was treated for it. A few months after my treatment my symptoms got so bad I had to go to the ER. I had an mri, cat scan, gastric emptying, and upper endoscopy which were all normal with the exception of gastritis being present.
I've lost a good 15lbs since the beginning which may not be alot but i'm already lean to begin with so that's a lot for me. I've been trying to take Prevacid but that doesn't seem to be working. I'm at a total loss.
thanks all.

The strong antibiotics that are used for H Pylori bacteria infections frequently cause gastritis in some people. They do it to me just like you.
I know how frustrating it can be. It certainly is not mental when you are nauseated and felling bad.
I usually get it every time I use an antibiotic for a week or so and the antibiotic does not have to be very strong.
I found that the stand treatment used by Doctors --- reducing stomach acid with a similar PPI does not help. I have used Aciphex and Prilosec.
An OTC remedy given to me by an Alternative Care Medical Doctor cured me in 2 weeks.
The remedy he prescribed is Mastica -- also known as Mastic Gum. It has been used by the Greeks for hundreds of years to help stomach problems like gastritis. I took 2 -- 500 mgm capsules between meals twice daily. Along with Mastica I took a probiotic supplement-- PB-8 at bed time.
I think you should try it-- The last time I used it I bought it from a local Vitamin Shoppe. But, you can get it online.
I wish you well---Harry
