TammyT

is the best. I have never exercised and need to lose alot of weight so I have decided to get off my FAT butt, exercise and watch what I eat. I have High Blood Pressure that wouldn't go down, so I decided to actually take care of myself now.

I have started Tae Bo and in one week I have lost 6lbs. It is the best work out I have ever done.

By my 30th birthday which is in 6 months I plan on looking dam good and continue to take good care of myself.

Please get Tae Bo if you want an awesome workout.

Just thought I would share.

Go you!!

I too have been doing Tae Bo. How often do you do it? What tape are you on?? I am beginning to get a little more committed to it, and plan on doing it tonight, as I did last night. I also think I may join a women's fitness center. (I need more leg muscles!! I need an extra boost on those kicks!!)
Anywho, stick with it, and let me know!!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Take care,

-Sapphie

I am just in the begining tape. The basic tape so far. It is only 27 minutes long, but geez feels like it is hours and after man I feel great. I do it every other day, only becuase I haven't exercised in a long long long time so I need to take it slow.

But I love it. Thanks for the reply. I cannot wait until I am skinny and looking great.

I love tae bo! I swear by it! I lost 15lbs and got so much definition over the summer all b/c of that basic beginner tape. It helped me a whole lot-- it made me get off my butt and just move around! Of course, with winter, I gained *some* of it back and am currently working out w/a different tape, I think I'm going to get a newer taebo tape just b/c nothing seems to be as good or as fun as tae bo w/billy blanks!

Good luck everyone!

I know Angeline, isn't it great. And he is so motivating. I just love to do it. I used to be so lazy. I would get home from work, eat and sit my FAT *** on the couch and do nothing. Now I eat and exercise, play with my daughter. And the next day I have so much energy it is unreal.

I also have panic/anxeity attacks and this seems to help too. I just love it.

I am hoping to lose another 25lbs but June 2 my 30th birthday.

Thanks for replying. It was great to hear from you.

Good for all three of us!!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
I have done the basic video the past three nights in a row. I plan on doing it whenever I have to free time to. (I think I may just do it in a few minutes!) My muscles haven't been killing me really the day after, so I see no harm in continuing whenever I please. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Awesome cardio! I have been doing it only a couple of weeks, and I already feel great. I feel that I have taken such a positve step in the right direction. I am hoping to look at least a bit svelte for my 21st birthday in March. Miami, baby! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif
You girls just keep up the good work, and keep me posted!!

Much love,

Hey guys!

I wanted to chime in here too...to let you know of my success story with TaeBo. I started it back in January of 99. I was on a mission to take off pounds by my birthday that following June (close to your birthday, Tammy!). I started to change the way I ate and doing TaeBo at least 4 days a week. After the first few months, I also started to weight train. I would do the Basic TaeBo tape and then head to the gym for about a half an hour of some simple weight training.

All that said and done, by June of 99 I had taken off 20 pounds! I am a firm believer in TaeBo! Now, a year and a half later, I have kept the weight off and have switched to a tougher workout because my endurance has gotten way up because of sticking with the TaeBo. It got to a point where the tape started to get boring and I wanted a little more. I now go to classes at the local gym and weight train a little more.

So, definately, stick with it!! You'll be able to do it!

You dont need anything except for water to do Tae Bo! You can buy Tae Bo at any store like Target, Walmart, maybe K-mart. I bought the 4 pack for $45.00 which includes basic (30 mins), advanced (about an hour), the 8 minute workout, and the intro tape ( which i didnt even watch) I feel like if you spend a lot of time watching it, you'll be intimidated with the moves. Some take weeks to master, after doing Tae Bo for 2 months, tonight i finally got the jab...hook... right.. back... =) you'll see what I'm talking about.(its one of the moves i always had trouble with) I just jumped into the basic, which i'm really happy with. I really recommend it, i've never had a "hard" stomach, but i'm starting to develop one. Good luck tiger!!!!

TammyT

Tigar

I got right into it. I didn't have any troubles at all. I did the intro tape for like 2 weeks and took off on the basic one after that. Now remember I have NEVER exercised before, so this was new and I am NOT a small girl, though I am getting there, it was very easy to do. I got the two pack tapes at Walmart for $30.00 which is the intro and basic, I figure in like the fall or maybe a little earlier I will get the advanced. It is a great workout and I think if you go at your pace, you will be all set.

Let us know how you did.

Waa Hoo, I love TaeBo I am way over weight and am so off ballance that I can hardly do any of it for too long, but sweat!!! and feel like I am doing something good for myself. I got the tapes from Amazon.com and they were used. (2 tapes only) 19.95 and I liked that. So yesterday was day 1 and today will be day 2. Untill I get myself where I can do the whole tape. then I will probably do every other day and walk on other days. Keep up the good work all and God Bless you!

TammyT

Good for you. Keep on going. Don't give up. I too am overweight, by like 100# so I have a lot to loose. I also have a balance problem and High Blood Pressure and this Tae Bo is so easy to do and it is working great for me.

Good Luck and keep it up. Let me know how you are doing.

Hy tammy and congrats. I am from Australia and I am going to get in on your Tae bo fad. I am intersted to hear more from you because i am pretty similar. I am 26 years old and I have a 2 year old. I have previously experienced no energy level. I have experienced anxiety and panick attacks for a couple of years. I choose not to take an medication for it however i have decided to give up smoking, eat well and excercise. I also experience bouts of High Blood Pressure. What do you do about the HBP. Has excercise helped. If you are as unfit as me you must of found it difficult to start. My heart rate races very easily probably sensitised by my nervous fatigue. I am starting to feel better though and tommorrow I will go in search for a tae Bo video. Nice to read your comments.

Becmuss, go online to find it. I got mine at an Amazon.com auction for 19.95. About 1/2 price. Only used one time. Works great and Amazon.com does all the money thing for you so you can trust them I think anyway. Good luck

Where can you get those Tae Bo tapes? Are they expensive? Do you have to order by phone or on line or is it like in stores?

If so, which stores(I live in Canada, so i need a Canadian store)? How much do they cost.... And what are the names of those tae bo tapes? Is it a hard work out? Is it like kickboxing?

Got to agree with ya'll too. For some reason the Tae Bo workouts don't bore me. Thats all i got to say and keep at it.

TammyT
02-21-2001, 12:45 PM
and I am so happy. Tae Bo is the best thing. I am also doing Buns of Steele cause my
bootie is a little big. I am now drinking slim fast too to give me that extra energy I need,
plus I hate to take pills so this way I get all my vitamins.

Keep at it everyone. It is the best workout ever.

Someone asked where you can get them, I got mine at Walmart but I am sure any
dpartment store has them and you can order them online too. My were $30.00 for the
basic tapes.

If you can buy them, please do so, you will not be disappointed.

Wow... I'm so glad to see this posting. I also have started Tae-bo. Billy Blanks is wonderful. Very positive and reassuring... also very motivating to the individual who is doing the workout. My 3 year old son does the punches also and dances around when I'm doing the workout. I got the 4 pack (intro, basic, intermediate, 8-min) at Wal-Mart for $79.98 Can. funds Kind of expensive, but well worth it, in my opinion.

Heard that you can also look for it on any site that sells stuff. ie: ebay.com or amazon.com are two good sites to try. Just do a search for Tae-bo. Or even Billy Blanks.

Good luck to everyone that posted here... hope everyone keeps up the good work.

Peace http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well I weigh in tomorrow. I will post my success. So since September I have lost a total of 35lbs. Yay me. I am very overweight so to me this is alot. I have a goal of losing another 30lbs by June and I think I can do it.

Lets all keep in touch with our success stories. I have done so good. My Blood pressure is going down, although I still takes meds, it is getting there. I feel good.

Tae Bo is the best workout and the only one that has worked for me so far.

Keep that Motivation going everyone.

I was reading through the messages, and I saw that we have so many JUNE bday's...mine is on JUNE 9....lol....anyway for some reason...I get really bored after a while, or I dont know maybe I just over do it. But now I am going to the gym, and doitn Tae-Bo the days I dont feel like driving. Also, I would like to lose fat, then work on Tae-Bo since it focuses on muscles mostly...I dont want all that fat turning into muscle......

It's a great great workout !! The basic w/the 8 mn right after is WONDERFUL! My advice for the person talking about the kicks at the end of basic...keep a chair (or something) handy and if you have to lean on it..DO IT! I've learned trying to stay up just to say I did isn't doing the kick correctly and i've noticed a lot more tone by doing the last kicks correctly by holding on to a chair! I have two more weeks till a big ol' "shabang" with me in a little dress...I will be kicking my little butt off everyday until then! it's wonderful!!! Keep in touch everyone!

Thanks so much for posting this topic. I'm going to Las Vegas at the end of the month and I needed to get in shape for it. I'm hoping to loose about 10lbs, but I know it won't happen that fast.

I had forgotten about the Tae-Bo tapes I have. I know that I'll be able to work up to the regular tape, but as anyone here been able to do the advanced tape and make it all the way through.

I think if I can incorporate that into my schedule (I currently work full time, go to classes four nights a week and have a dog to take care of)I'll do ok.

Thanks again and it's great to hear all the encouraging stories out there!

I have always wanted to try Tae Bo but I am the most uncoordinated person in the whole world. I can't even dance. I thought I would fall on my face. Do you think I could do this? It looks really hard to do.

TammyT

I think anyone can do this. I have a really bad balance/dizziness problem and I can do it just fine. It is so much fun. No matter your weight, size or coordination, I beleive you can do it.

I got mine at walmart. The 2 pack Instruction/Basic tapes. It was $30.00. I will be doing this for a while, but I just love it.

Give it a try and let me know how it went. Good Luck.

Hi Leigh

I am doing great. Because of Tae Bo I can now go to the Gym without any problems. I go to the Gym and Tae Bo every night and walk inbetween. I have gone from 285lbs in December down to 260lbs. It is only 25lbs but man does that make alot of difference. I would like to lose another 30lbs before my 30th b-day party in June, so I am really going strong.

It is the best workout I have ever done. I weigh in on Monday so I will keep you posted.

Thanks so much for asking.

I am thinking of trying the tape, but I wondered how long does the tape take to do?
Will this help my heavy thighs and hips? I need to reduce my lower half, please someone answer! Thanks!!!

Also, which tape do you recommend?

TammyT

I started with the Basic workout tapes, bought them at Walmart for $30.00. The first tape just shows you the moves and the second is the basic workout and it is 27 minutes long. I just love it and I truely think anyone can do it.

Good luck and keep me posted.

Tammy,

I'm going to get the basic tapes today, do you think it will reduce my hips and thighs? I have the worst problems on my lower half. I'm only about 15 lbs overweight. Did you also change your diet? Please tell me any other info. you can share and thanks! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

TammyT
04-11-2001, 10:00 AM
Hi,

Yep I truely think it will work for those areas with the different types of moves. It truely is a great tape. It can be a little hard to do at the begining, but the more you do it the easier it will get. I just love it.

As far as my diet, I just cut out all crap food. My usual day is

Breakfast-Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink and a piece of fruit.

Lunch-A Salad with Fat Free Dressing and a Piece of Fruit.

Snack-Usually fruit and Veggies

Dinner-Whatever my hubby makes me LOL

Snack-Pretzles

And I drink alot of Water. Tons of water and that is about it.

Please keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi Everyone! Tammy I'm so proud of you! Sounds like you are doing awesome! Just remember to not give up ever. Feeling good about yourself should be number one in your life! =) On your diet I've learned the best thing to do it watch your carbs and proteins. Forget calories! You should be getting all your carbs from veggies, fruit and whole grains. NO SUGARS of fast food. Theres good carbs and bad carbs. I've started dieting and exercising for a lil over a month now. I jog in the mornings for about 30 min. then do Tae-bo and weight lifting. I used to do the basics for over a year. Then I switched to the advanced tape. It was a killer at first but now I can keep up and no longer sore the next day. I've lost 6 lbs. I want to get to about 10% body fat and be all toned muscle. I want a six pack and defined arms and chest.
Isn't it weird the more you work out the more energy you have?!? I know if I dont work out ever single morning I'm tired and grumpy. Weird! Anyway, keep up the good work everyone! Life is so much better when you feel good about yourself! KEEP IT UP!

TammyT
