 I have so many symptoms that sometimes I wonder how I know if they are hormone related or something else. The hot flushes/night sweats, aches and pains, dizziness, pain in mouth and face and nausea can all be other things and being that I suffer badly with panic disorder it is difficult to distinguish what is what. Do others of you feel the same?

It's going on 4 years with the same symptoms of hot flashes to face, hands, feet and neck area, dizzy, my whole body aches and unbalanced feeling, my period have gone from 5 days to 3 days. I go back to the endocrinologist June 6th to rule out any other possibilities that can mimic menopause. I have been through everything from heart monitor, god I cannot even tell you had many blood/urine tests I have gone through and not to mention anxiety pills which have not worked. I hope to have answers soon! Good Luck!

I can relate and it is nice to see I am not alone. I am 51 and still getting my period. the last few months I have experienced horrible headaches, backaches and nausea like you wouldn't believe. No feeling of wanting to eat all all. This is always a week before and during. I have been to my doctor and I get so discouraged because they really don't know. I know it is all hormonal. Does anyone else have this and and are there any vitiamins that can help? Alyce

I understand! i have so many symptoms that I too do not always know if they are peri or not. I suffer from anxiety that I know is caused by my worry about symptoms. It's just so hard to control it. We are not alone in this. I only wish that some doctor would specialize in peri and menopause and real research would be done on this. T.

Here is the list. I posted it about a year ago...
Hot flashes, flushes, night sweats and/or cold flashes, clammy feeling Irregular heart beat
Irritability
Mood swings, sudden tears
Trouble sleeping through the night (with or without night sweats)
Irregular periods; shorter, lighter periods; heavier periods, flooding; phantom periods, shorter cycles, longer cycles
Loss of libido
Dry vagina
Crashing fatigue
Anxiety, feeling ill at ease
Feelings of dread, apprehension, doom
Difficulty concentrating, disorientation, mental confusion
Disturbing memory lapses
Incontinence, especially upon sneezing, laughing; urge incontinence
Itchy, crawly skin
Aching, sore joints, muscles and tendons
Increased tension in muscles
Breast tenderness
Headache change: increase or decrease
Gastrointestinal distress, indigestion, flatulence, gas pain, nausea
Sudden bouts of bloat
Depression
Exacerbation of existing conditions
Increase in allergies
Weight gain
Hair loss or thinning, head, pubic, or whole body; increase in facial hair
Dizziness, light-headedness, episodes of loss of balance
Changes in body odor
Electric shock sensation under the skin and in the head
Tingling in the extremities
Gum problems, increased bleeding
Burning tongue, burning roof of mouth, bad taste in mouth, change in breath odor
Osteoporosis (after several years)
Changes in fingernails: softer, crack or break easier
Tinnitus: ringing in ears, bells, 'whooshing,' buzzing etc.
Any woman can experience one or more of these at any given time during perimenopause. It is quite a change the body is put through and it is amazing how much our bodies are tied to the production of hormones. It is a roller coaster ride and one that has a light at the end. Don't despair. You will get through it. I know. Went through it for 13 years and now have reached menopause at the age of 50. FINALLY!!!!

OMG, [AS MY DAUGHTER WOULD SAY] I have, or have experienced all of these symptoms! When one or more goes away, another batch starts up.
I am having all sorts of stomach problems now, and the crampy feeling that I wrote on this week. I have GERD, and I'm on Nexium and a probiotic as well. I feel nauseaus too. YUK!
Of course, every time I have the 'symptom du jour', the anxiety kicks in and I become obsessed with getting sick.
Out of breath and fast heart beat...must be heart desease.
Bloating and frequent urination...ovarian cancer
You name it. I HAVE IT!
And I'm now addicted to Wintergreen Lifesavers.

Can anyone offer help for these symptoms? The worse for me has been lack of energy and stamina and sleep disturbances. I tried bioidentical hormones that worked for awhile but I eventually stopped taking everything. Initially I felt better but not back to the above.
I am taking a great multivitamin. I eat really well and healthy. Still trying to exercise even though I feel like c__p.
I am 55 and it has been about 6 months with no bleeding at all. Before that about another 6 months.

I wish I knew. I think it's a craving, or has something to do with my olfactory senses. I seem to be craving tastes like this.

LOL, you really made me laugh at that post..I do the same. I was just sitting here a few minutes ago with the heart flutters thinking, yeh the 2 doctors I saw were probably wrong and this is really something wrong..maybe even rare. and that little ache in my left side..something that is undetectable but serious. It makes me crazy, I used to be sooooo UP all the time, everyone called me when they needed to feel positive!

I have alot of those symptoms and was beginning to wonder what the heck was going on. Now, I think I might know. I have been having some dull cramping the last few days, but my period is already over for this month. Does anyone else have this? Nothing intolerable, but just dull, achey pain across my lower pelvis.

I have the cramping to. I skipped my period for a year then it came back and now its been a couple of months without it again. I'm a mess right now. My ears are buzzing, my whole body is buzzing, nausous, headaches, dry eyes, red eyes, feeling really out of sorts, even now my blood pressure is going wacky. I'm like everyone else and believes its not hormonal, but some kind of disease. I hope this gets easier. It seems every time I restart my period, my symptoms comes back worse then ever. Now yesterday on my eye lid there is a little bump. Someone else would probably just think nothing, but me I think there is cancer growing there or something. Help, help, help

Oh yeah, I had an eye thing too. About a month ago my right eye was really bloodshot [like I scratched it with my contact] and I was SURE it was related to some horrible cancer.
As I said, it's the symptom du jour. I will say that my probiotic [Flora Q] had really helped me become regular...and it's helped my IBS as well. I'm also taking Coromega, which is a 'squeeze in your mouth' omega 3. It's the highest concentration you can find, and it tastes really good....not like fish. I take it for all the heart heath related reasons, but I noticed that my weight has shifted and my waist is more defined. A good thing at last. OFCOURSE, when people say I've lost weight, I think 'sure I'm probably dying; AAAAARRRG! I'm also on a calcium/magnesium supplement that is in a liquid form. All of these supplements have passed muster with my very rigid GYN.
Oh, by the way, the one thing that isn't helping is the Lexapro. I've tried so many things for anxiety. Nothing seems to prevent me from going down that road.

Hi Ann!
I know it has been along time since I came here. Just got caught up in all the c--p of life.
I went through a real hell last year with the peri symptoms. I bled horribly for a straight 5 months with pain that was unbelievable. Found I had cysts on my ovaries. Ruined my Christmas and everything. I finally went to the doctor to find out that I was no longer making any progesterone. Just estrogen(this is what causes the bleeding) anyway, I started taking a BC pill that was just progesterone(Joviette) and wa-la. The periods stopped. I went off of it about 2 months ago and still no bleeding. I had the FSH test done and it showed that I had entered menopause. YEH! My ovaries have a clean bill of health now too, with no cysts.
I can tell you that what everyone here is going through is just awlful. For 13 years I have dealt with such a variety of ills. I know now that they were all do to perimenopause. I think that women need to be more informed about what is going on and that as the ovaries shut down, many, many things are going to go haywire. I think the worst part is feeling like you are going crazy and making things up. I had such anxiety and panic about 6 years in. Now I look back and I don't experience any of that now and think wow! I wasn't crazy. I was a normal women going through perimenopause and no one could really help me. I just needed to get through it. We all just need to get through this change and on the other side will be some relief. I say 'some' because I get hot flashes once in awhile and the night sweats now. I can live with that though.
Anyway, I will hang around and if anyone has any question about about what they are going through, I will try to help. Luckly, doctors are finally getting it that it affects us all in different ways and that we are not a bunch of crazy, looney women making up this stuff.
Hang in there!

Hi roland92,
Well that is where it can get hard to say. We are all individual and will go through this as individuals. My anxiety, when I was about 43, was unbearable. I think I actually had a breakdown. I had panic attacks and anxiety and was put on a array of medications for it. Xanax became my friend and helped me get through it. But it did go away. I no longer take anything and though that was about 5 years ago, I still can get some anxiety about things, but I am able to deal with it.
If it is really ruining your quality of life right now, I would suggest seeing a doctor about it. There are meds out there that can help you feel better and get through this tough time. Understand that you are not crazy and just have a chemical imbalance caused by the fluctuations of your hormones. You won't be on them forever. It is worth it.
Some other things to try are getting plenty of exercise. This seemed to help me also. I am not athletic, but walking was my exercise of choice.
Hope this helps some. Take care!

I do not exercise like I should. I am afraid of meds because I heard that they can make anxiety worse and you have to be weaned off of them. I just have to remember that this is a natural procession and that I will hopefully come out on the other side soon (hopefully with all my marbles!) T.

I really hope that the anxiety goes away. As an anxious, type A person, this symptom has really gotton during peri. What really bugs me is that I can't find an axiety drug that works. I've
tried everything.
My 85 year old mother and 65 year old sister say that our generation is bombarded with too much publicity about menopause, cancer, etc. Although it is informative, you can't pick up a magazine without seeing a list of symptoms for some dreaded desease. And some of these symptoms mirror menopause. So I tend to overthink everything....and I don't need to overthink any more than I already do!

Ok, I have several of those 35 symtoms mentioned earlier.
I'm 60, had a hysterectomy about 20 years ago. The Dr took me off the premrin several years ago. This past 2 weeks I've been having itching (the Dr said it was hives), crawly feeling (like bugs crawling under my skin), clammy feeling on my skin, hot - then cold, my body aches - expecially my knees. I also feel down - kinda depressed because I'm getting old and I don't like it. I can't do the things I used to do.
Does this sound like menopause? If so, why would I just now be getting it after all these years? My Dr said I could still get menopause even tho I had a hysterectomy. I'm considering making another appointment to have some blood work done but if it's all signs of menopause, then I would rather find some natural way to deal with it.
He gave me predisone for the "hives" which I had bad withdrawals from so I don't want to take them anymore. I cried all the time and felt awful for a couple of days. He also gave me allegra which I am leary about taking. My body doesn't do well with alot of drugs.
The itching isn't too bad right now but my legs ache and feel crawly - like I have the flu or something. They feel hot too.
My husband told me he could feel the clammy feeling on my skin and he said I feel hot to the touch but I don't have a fever. I've checked it several times when I get hot.
I also get some anxiety - and I think I have all kinds of weird diseases going on.
Sorry this is so long. I just needed to get it all out. I like this forum where you can talk to people who are going through the same thing you are.
Thanks for listening and if anyone has any suggestions - let me know.
Thanks.

Hi Vickie, Man do I hear ya sister...I have been through the gammit also. There was several times that I became basically agoraphobic. Cried all day or felt so panicy that I didn't want to move. I have battled slight anxiety all my life but still was able to function fine...that is until I hit 40...whooooo then it all hit the fan.
To make a VERY long story a bit shorter, after seven years of going on & off meds I am now staying on my meds for life. I take an anti-depressant & a very small dose of an anti-anxiety daily and I am great now...Praise the Living God!!!!!
There is no need for you to suffer, please find a Dr. who has knowledge of these symptoms & get treated...the trick is possibly taking a med daily & not just as needed.
[removed]
BTW I am 48...how old are you and what are your cycles like?
God Bless, Lainey

Well, the last few weeks, I have been dealing with stomach issues. I feel full after just a few bites, my stomach feels bloated alot, I have some pain in my upper abdomen, almost like a catch, if that makes any sense(gas, I suppose) I rarely feel nauseous, although I have on occasion. Sometimes, my stomach actually feels sore to touch it or to lean against something. I know alot of this could be IBS, but I've had some real hot flashes and dizziness lately, too, so I'm thinking it's all hormonal. YUK! I suppose I should visit with my doc and be checked to know what's happening for sure.

Oh my gosh.......here we all are suffering very similar symptoms, the depression or should I say "sobbing spells" are awful, my throat tightens up with anxiety, I have many of those 35 listed, I was surprised to see tingling extremities, as I've had those for 5 months now. My husband asked me the other day if I could be bi-polar, it seems he's been surfing trying to figure my endless symptom list out....but bi-polar?? I've tried to tell him it's perimenopause and I think he is getting weary of that "peri-reason". I can't really blame him as it would be tiresome living with me in "this condition". I am 51 and glad I've found some gals to co-miserate with. Is there something we can do or do we just plod through & wait it out?? Is there a combo of anti-depressants that may be helpful? Progesterone cream?? Anything? Thanks to you all, I feel better knowing I'm not alone.

I am on Lexapro and it seems to be helpful. I am 51 and have the same symptons including the tingling in my hands. I am still getting my period so my dr. would not put me on the cream but I have a friend who had her cream mixed for her according to her numbers and she feels better. I thought getting older was suppose to be so great. I am really dismayed that I feel so crappy and have so many of the peri symptons.

IBS is so part of perimenopause and I found that out after talking with my doctor. It is just a sympton and it is not a disease. eat more fiber, watch what you eat, Drink lots of water and all that other good stuff.

Isn't middle age fun? I'm not in full blown menopause yet so I still have many symptoms to look forward to.
I like to experiment with vitamins and some well established herbs. I like to use a low-dose stress-B-complex. It seems to do 3 things for me. Improves my mood. I feel much more social and engaging with people. I feel like I can actually 'do something'. It also seems to help settle my stomach and provide some energy boost. Still struggling with the anxiety and pounding heart though.
Anybody have a problem with having a ton of post-nasal drip? I have to spit a lot. I remember my mom having this problem too. Maybe its just hereditary.

I am new here and I feel comforted in knowing that I'm not alone. I am 41 and not sure if I am having perimenopause symtoms. My periods have gotten a little irregular and I suffer from ovarian cysts. I have just gotten so frustrated and depressed trying to figure out what's going on with me. I try to be positive, but it's very difficult at times. I have most of the "35" symptoms listed. I went through a very stressful period a few months back then I started losing sleep. When I would wake up, I felt very flushed in my face, tingling in my face, burning in my neck. Symtoms that followed were tingling in extremities, skin sensitive to touch, extreme anxiety. I have gotten the anxiety under control with the help of Lexapro, but now I am consumed with all the aches and pains I am feeling. Joint pain, muscle pain, you name it and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Has anyone else dealt with this and do you have any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

Hi,
I too have all the aches and pains but i also have such
bad anxiety/panic attacks that i don't know what to do.
I am constantly crying, worrying, and thinking i am dying
everything hurts and my mind is always thinking it's gonig
to pass out. I get blurry vision when i feel this way. I am
sometimes able to control it alittle but usually it goes full
blown til i either need to go to the ER or i think i am dying
and run around waiting to pass out. This is some scary chit
for me. I have been going through this very very hard for the
pass year and it is not getting any better.
I can tell you that i get major aches and when i get one i usually
think the worse so all the others start.
Chest pain and back pain and stomach and arms and legs...chain
reaction...then anxiety, OMG i hope someone can help me soon..
I feel like there is no sense in living this way anymore..My life is
so not living as it is now..so what's the difference?

Wow! I just found this site and read the list of 35 and realized I have so many of them! I am bringing tis list to my doc. He thinks my sweats are a side effect of my pain medication I have been on for three years! Like all of a sudden I am allergic to my meds? I am just glad to know I am not crazyand the way I feel is "normal". What are you ladies doing for all these awful feelings??

Annie, I take Calcium 1000mg/Magnesium 500mg with Vit.D ...that helps the heart palps and works like a mild tranquilizer to relax your nerves..
Standardized Black Cohosh 40mg for the sweats (must say Standardized and be 40mg...NOT the others)..
Centrum Silver Multi-vitamin..
Flax Seed oil caps or sometimes Salmon Oil caps for the Omega's..
Cinnamon Caps to keep sugars level
Thee things seem to help, especially the Cal/Mag...the dose for 1000mg is 4 caps a day so I carry them with me..one about 10am...another about 3 in the afternoon (or whenever I get nervous or jittery feeling in the afternoon) and then 2 before bed to help me sleep...since I am now 3 years post-menopause I take the Black Cohosh at night because that is really the time that I will get a flash or 2 IF I get one at all..always seems to be while sleeping. This was all from reading this board and a couple others that I decided this was the formula for me...my Dr. says its all ok with her, she has never understood why I want to just go natural and put up with some of the things like the mood swings rather than take an anti-depressant...but I have had so many friends and relatives go on them and have worse problems develop that I just tough that part out and pray it goes away  ...so anyway, this is what I take.

I know this is a list of perimenopause symptoms but can these symptoms continue on into menopause? I'm 51 and "officially" menopausal. Still having a lot of these symptoms, though. Poor concentration & memory, itchy/crawly skin, inability to sleep, no energy, and many more. I hadn't had a period since April of last year until this month. My doctor told me I might "spot" but this was a full on period; lasted for 10 days. I think his definition of "spotting" might be slightly different from mine. At any rate, I'm just wondering if these symptoms continue on for a while. Thanks!

This made me feel better to read this because my boyfriend is asking me if I am bipolar because of my mood swings. I am going through perimenopause, will be 51 soon, and I never acted like this before I started perimenopause. I have always suffered from anxiety and panic disorder, but going through this is the icing on the cake.
I feel like I am losing sense of who I used to be... It stinks! I am taking Paxil for depression and panic attacks. I know I should be exercising but I haven't. I am too scared to take HRT and I stopped taking Black Cohosh which I thought was helping me, but I'm not sure anymore.
Going through this really stinks!

Feelings of dread, apprehension, doom
Difficulty concentrating, disorientation, mental confusion

Any woman can experience one or more of these at any given time during perimenopause. It is quite a change the body is put through and it is amazing how much our bodies are tied to the production of hormones. It is a roller coaster ride and one that has a light at the end. Don't despair. You will get through it. I know. Went through it for 13 years and now have reached menopause at the age of 50. FINALLY!!!!
so are you saying once we reach menopause the symtons stop im suppose to be post meno but my symtons just started i cry allmost all the time for no reason i get depressed i get hot but its not too bad but the crying is the worst for me my gyn put me on HRT PREMPRO and says all my symtons should go away within 2 weeks but says i can take for life are they safe to take for life ?? as lopng as i have my yrly and mam done each yr? im 45 and its been since dec 06 since my last period but i think im going through early because of having a ovary and tube removed jan 06 i did have thyrold disorder but i no longer have it it went away just before my gyn told me im post see she checked all my hormones and even my tsh and t4 well been without meds since june and my tsh went down to normal its 2.6 and t4 is 8.2 in the midrange which they say is good and i feel good except for the crying and i get my feelings hurt really easy so far thats the only symtons i have and the hotness isnt that bad i did take HRT PREMPRO and i felt weird but she said be patient the symtons would pass so is it safe to take for life or what ???
thanks.

FINALLY!!!!

I was on Prempro for 9 years. I started with a small dose, but because my symptoms were so bad, I quickly went to maximum dose. I had no side affect and it worked well. I still had some hot flashes but they were milder. With my symptoms so bad, the doctor said I probably would have some. I went off Prempro after 9 years because my sister developed breast cancer. The cancer really scared me. Some studies were said to be sound. My doctor said a lot were not good studies, but because of that I went off. The hot flashes and night sweats continue and I am to the point I am just worn out tired of it. I keep thinking it has to end sometime, It's been 11 years for crying out loud. I talked to my gyn and she wants me to try Effexor in a low dose. I, like you, am trying to get some solid information on this drug. I've researched it and found some good things, but a lot of things that are not good. I don't like being on meds, so I am trying to be cautious. I wish you luck. I keep thinking it shouldn't have to be this hard. My thoughts are with you.

I am new here,50 years old and still have my period every month but it is REALLY heavy lately.I am sitting here right now with huge anxiety and cannot sleep and now worry how am I going to get up at 5AM and be able to function as I need at least 8 hours sleep.I had such a bout of anxiety last night with my heart racing/pounding and I could hardly breath, my chest goes all red too like I have a sunburn. This is happening to me again now.I did have 2 glasses of wine last night earlier in the evening with dinner and again tonite and wonder if that makes it worse?
I also have the night sweats and do go thru hot and cold all day.If I have a hot cup of coffee or tea,I can go into an instant sweat and then am freezing later. This has only come on in the last year other than I have suffered from anxiety since I was in my 20's but never like this.My hair is also falling out most likely because I am so STRESSED out with my anxiety and now have a spot at the back of my head that I have to make sure I brush it right to cover it up .I can't stand this and don't want to look forward to years more of this.I just quickly got my Calcium/Magnesium and took one as had been suggested from a person previously in hope that will help me relax and be able to sleep.I may have to take tomorrow off and try to relax as I am under alot of stress at work also but I can't do this forever or I will just be fired. What to do?

Yep, thats the wonders of Peri...I have had all of the 35 Symptoms of menopause and I am now 3 years Post-meno and still have some symptoms which I have now found out is all from the anxiety.
I discovered this because I was searching for answers as to why the last 2 years every now and then I get nausea like I have flu...but then later I am fine...I have been to the Dr. numerous times and she says everything is fine...then maybe the next day it hits me again...I found out that it is becasuse when you go to the Dr. or even the ER, theyn you feel safe...so the anxiety and panic goes away!
I bought a program that teaches you about anxiety, panic attacks and even agoraphobia..The one thing they stress is to tell yourself that you won't die, it's just anxiety.
That is my new Mantra...most anxiety, if it is the typical menopause variety will only last 10-15 minutes at a time. I now see that it is true, I keep telling myself it is only anxiety and within minutes I am fine...but before I would notice my heart beat, then thats it, I would focus on my heart beat...that will make you crazy with worry, which "feeds the panic" pretty soon ooh, there a little pain in my head "Uh oh...brain tumor"...and I'm Off to the races, I will then feel "bad" and notice every ache and pain all day!!!
I also found out why I get panicky when I go into a grocery store with the bright flourescent lights...triggers panic!
This is ONLY anxiety, it will not kill me, it's ONLY anxiety.

Wow, I just read 12 pages of menopause symptoms and effects and let me tell you, I am feeling a little, no a lot, apprehensive over this getting older bit! What do you suppose the pioneer women did to handle this trying time of their lives? Oh yeah, probably that was when they were locked up in mental wards or something. I am 50, first time to this site due to searching the web. I can so totally relate to so many of you and your experiences. The top of my list:
1. Anxiety (not bad enough for meds, but need to try and meditate more often, plus tell myself it is only due to aging, and I can't die from it)
2. Hot flashes ( I try to think of it as a "fat burning" mode, although that leads me to number 3)
3. Weight gain: Yep, 15 lbs in the last 1 1/2 years, even though I exercise 5 days a week and have limited my alcohol intake. Regarding the alcohol, I had a great summer (probably part of the weight gain) but now have limited my intake to see if I can lose some weight (so far, I have gained 5 lbs more...go figure)
4. Emotional (this does not, I repeat, does not mean bi-polar!) I cry about TV shows like Home Makeover, wait, everyone cries over Home Makeover, and I feel kind of emotional, like when I'm on my period, even though I am not. At times, everything seems huge to me (not bigger, just more intense) like daily problems that pop up.
Here is my story and a description of what happened to me 3 years ago. I was 47 and doing great! I exercised, ate right, but started having super heavy periods. One day at work, during a heavy period, I had a "gusher":o. As I was walking to my office, all of a sudden my right arm tingled, and a sensation shot up into my arm which led to my neck and then my face. My right side (arm on up) was locked up and my right side of my face pulled over to the left side. I could not talk, and outward appearances were of a stroke. I could process information, did not faint, and could nod my head in answer to questions. This only lasted less than a minute and I could feel the sensation leaving my face and arm, and was fine right after. Dr's (2 specialists) said seizure, one doctor said mini-stroke. They put me on so much meds and changes, from celexa to prozac, to paxil, to buspar. I was losing myself and hated how I felt, so I took control. After 2 months of knowing I was headed down the wrong road, I went off the meds and started meditating along with heavy praying. My relationship with God became stronger, I became happier. I still deal with the above issues daily, but try to have a good sense of humor to help me deal with it. Bottom line, the doctors were using anxiety medicine to treat whatever happened to me. Turns out, after lots of testing, I am hypoglycemic which can, when the stars are lined up right, lead to a seizure when combined with my intake of high energy drinks a couple of times a day (tired all the time, another indicator of the big meno) and lots of coffee. No wonder I had a seizure! Who wouldn't?!
Anyway, my doctor says my bladder, front of my vagina and my uterus have all fallen (another message board or do some of you have this as well?). So he wants to remove my uterus, lift and secure my vagina and bladder with, you guessed it, a hammock! (why do I get the image of my bladder lounging around on a warm beach in a hammock between two palm trees?) And he has precribed Prevera (sp?) for bleeding control in the meantime so I won't have so much clotting. After researching this drug, I am thinking no way! Anyone with experience on this drug? Any thoughts on the uterus removal? I am open for opinions and suggestions, or real life information from you all.
All of you ladies have helped me as well as millions of others, I'm sure. It is comforting to know we are not alone in our misery and suffering! How wonderful that we are all willing to share with each other our intimate details of life/body happenings to help one another. If only men could see the advantage of this...hmmm. :D

All of you ladies have helped me as well as millions of others, I'm sure. It is comforting to know we are not alone in our misery and suffering! How wonderful that we are all willing to share with each other our intimate details of life/body happenings to help one another. If only men could see the advantage of this...hmmm. :D

Hi all,
I can relate so much to all of you,i went to my GP 3 years ago with most of the 30 something symptoms, and just a few weeks ago i visited my GP again because i had missed 2 periods, and finaly after 3 years of hell including MRI scans,CT scans, lumbar punctures, and dx's ranging from, cranial bleed, arthritis of the nervous system, lupus, and finaly MS,my GP finaly dx the Menopause.
He said they couldnot have dx earlier because i had not missed a period, all i take is lyrica wich is for pain relief, and i dont think this is doing much good,i can't begin to tell you how frustrated and angry i have felt over the last few weeks since my GP finaly told me all this hell and worry for "THE MENOPAUSE".
I am still strugling with symptoms,tingling around my head,headaches,aching,tender boobs(all day,every day),tiredness,ect.
I wish it would all go away and leave me alone,im lucky to have a supportive husband and family who will do almost anythin they can to help, any advice on how to relieve some or all (i live in hope eh!) of the symptoms would be great, thanks in advance

That's me, very anxious. I'm 45 and this last year anxiety has landed me in the hospital (ER) twice. What happens is that I start feeling like I'm wound too tight. I'm aggitated, nervous, heart racing and of course I decide to check my BP and it's like 190/110 and then I really start freaking out...stroke!! My dr. wanted to put me on anti-depressants that she called a "mood stabilizer". I bought them, came home, ******d the med., saw a huge list of siide effects, especially sexual side effects and threw the pills away. All I take is my BP med and bought a wonderful product called Seredyn (all natural herbs) that calm my nerves when needed. It starts to work in 30 min. I don't want to take pills if I don't have to (except of course my BP med).

I too have many of oyur symptons. It all started a year ago with the very heavy bleeding. I was afraid I was not going to be able to go out of the house. My husband had to bring me a change of clothes the first time. Last month after almost a year the huge clotting has stopped. Now the are small clots.(LOL) I did not go on anything. I refused to. I already take Lexaro and Ativan when needed. I was not going on something for the heavy bleeding. Now if the bleeding never had subsided then that would hav been different. But I would notice after a day or 2 of heavy bleeding it would stop and that was okay according to the doctor and normal at my age with changes in my body. But all the other symptoms are all still right there tucked away in my brain and body. MY newest on is itching skin. My husband laughs everytime I give a new symptom. Put me on some remote island and I will be fine. marla
