:blob_fire Hey! would anybody know why a heart would pound so loudly, at times ...so loudly that you can hear it in your head?
What would this mean?
One friend (a nurse) said that it could mean vascular headaches, or migraines, or even possibly blood clottings? Would anybody have any other stuff to add to this at all, and or would you suppose that she is probably correct?
thanks!

Hello, I'm certainly not an expert on this...but I have the same thing going on and just wanted to share what's going on with me.
I also hear my heartbeat fairly loud in my head (I call it in my left ear) occasionally. I also have migraines, but not at the same time I am experiencing this pounding heartbeat. For me personally, I think my blood pressure may possibly be high at the times this has happened..not sure because I don't have a monitor, but sometimes can tell by symptoms.
I am also experiencing tinnitus this past year (ear ringing) since I was diagnosed with some type of vertigo (doctor's aren't sure what else to call it!) This is when I really began noticing the pounding heartbeat in my head/ear.
Also for my situation, I have been going through tests to determine if I have coronary artery disease, (a failed cardiac stress test and other symptoms)
I know I haven't been much help, but it is certainly something to mention to your doctor. Hope you can find an answer, I know I will still be searching for one. I'm going to keep track of this post for suggestions as well. :)
Take care,
Caroline

I would definetly get an echo done if you feel it is pounding really hard. It will tell how the blood is flowing in the heart muscles.
