I had been prescribed clomid for 12 months, it made me ovulate highly but no outcome of pregnancy. On the 1st may 2007 I under went an opperation called ovarian diathermy (hot rods prodded in my overies) due to being diagnoised PCOS.
Im 27 years of age and slim in build. Ive nothing wrong with my tubes and finding it difficult to find anybody able to give me their experiances. I would be very gratefull to hear your feed back.... Thanx

I havent had this process done but I was reading about it. I have a question for you? Have your spouse sperm count been checked? are you having normal periods? Also I heard it doesnt help nor cause any problems trying to conceive.

Hi thanks for your reply. Yes my partner has had a sperm count done, which we are told is high enough to populate the whole of the UK!!! I was given an appointment to see my specialist in August. After writting to him he has brought this appointment forward, hopefully to put me back on clomid. My periods were very irregular and could last for ever. Since having the op Im still waiting for a period. Ive been doing alot of reseach into ovarian diathermy op's and other peoples periods have been as regular as 35 days since having it. Do you have PCOS, if so what symptoms do you get and have you been trying or got children? From what i can gather American doctors and surgeons do not like to proform the operation. yet over here in england it is quite common and successfull. Im doing my best to think possitive.
Be nice to hear from you x

Hi there,

I usually do not post here but saw this and had to respond to you. I had the ovarian wedge resection with diathermy 14 years ago due to PCOS. I was pregnant with that very cycle from surgery. The doctor was surprised I was pregnant so quick. I now have a 13 year old son. (wow has it been that long). Then in 1998 I had it again to get pregnant. Again, I was pregnant same cycle from surgery. My daughter is now 8 years old. Both babies were high risk pregnancy only because I had lost 3 babies already. I wouldn't change anything in the world. This surgery worked great for me. I never had a period come after both surgery. Best of luck to you. If you have anymore questions I would be happy to answer for you.

Thanks for all your replies,
I have not been on the boards for a while... It was all getting a bit too much, Ive seen my specialist who showed me some photos of my tubes, full of adisions (excuse the poor spelling). He didnt really explain anything to me just that it would be difficult for me to conceive as the sperm would struggle to pass through. I cant undrstand this as I've had the dye put through my tubes and that passed through ok.
Im now on my second period since the op and its very heavy, the first was extreamly light. I was devistated when the doc told me the news. but now Im thinking possitive and so hoping that im fine.
The reason for writting is to ask if you or any one you know or heard of has the same problems? i feel very alone in this.
To make matters worse, my friend is preggas... 10 weeks to go, she feels the kicks and the flutters I long for that so much. My boyfriend and I have just returned from her house where I sat having to watch him pressing and poking her stomach and repeating how crazy it is that she has a little person in there... No its not his baby she is due to wed very soon. I feel happy and pleased for my friend but just wish that they could both show some consideration for me knowing what im going through to get in the same situation. It seemed like the conversation was going on forever!!!
Anyway Ive got that off my chest now.
Speak to you all soon
