Wow, just got a call from the hospital and they had a gynae cancellation for this Thursday and have scheduled me in for the lap & dye! The admissions officer said "we thought of you because you have called us rather a lot" :) :) Well, looks like it worked!!!
I am so happy, I really don't expect it to find anything wrong because the surgeon who operated on my ectopic said the remaining tube was perfect but the way they do things is that you have to have this before they will allow you to move onto any other treatment including clomid....so, instead of August I could be starting a clomid cycle in June!
It has made my week. The only slight concern I have it that we are BD'ing this week a lot as I am due to ovulate tomorrow and now, what happens to that? Does it make this month a wash-out? What if I conceived and they wash it right out??? Ok, so its not likely but I have just gone from happy to flippy eeekkkkk - did you hear anything about this ever?
Ok, I will calm down, maybe I should call my consultant (or maybe he will have me locked up for being crazy if I ask him that  )
lots of love
kel xx

Thanks Mapia, Holly, Kathy - you really are the best support system ever on here, what stars of the boards :) :) Can you imagine how these boards will explode when all your BFP's come up!?!?
I called my consultant, and he said I should not have sex prior to the surgery, in fact you should avoid unprotected sex for 1 month before a lap to ensure you are not pregnant. Ha! No chance, but with ovulating this week at least I just know now to let it go for this month. He actually said that the dye goes through at quite high pressure and therefore would wash "anything" out of the tube - I just have to believe that this wasn't my month and that the BD'ing done so far had no impact as I didn't ovulate yet anyway.
Thanks again all xxxx

Kelly - that's great news! The squeaky wheel gets the oil - and in this case gets the next available appt. Good for you!
I am a bit surprised they wouldn't time the lap - i remember being told it had to be in the beginning of my cycle before ovulation so i would know i wasn't pg and i still had to take a pg blood test beforehand. but you are right - since you didn't ovulate you should be in the right time frame anyway.
Good luck!

I am so nervous today for tomorrow - even though it is a small-ish procedure and I should be in and out in a day I can't believe that it is finally wheels in motion! Thank goodness they gave me practically no notice or I would have had to feel like this for weeks :dizzy: :dizzy:
Now just praying that everything is as clear as I think it is and that DH sample (on Friday) also comes back good and strong.....between a cleared out tube, clomid and strong swimmers maybe we can do this after all.....
Thanks for all your lovely support

Hi all, so back at work today after lap & dye on Thursday. Didn't have the procedure until late in the afternoon, felt dreadful and dizzy when I woke up but was determined to get home (spent too long in that hospital in the past year!) so walked around, asked the nurse to take the needle out of my hand, generally acted as though I was great and got discharged and went home and just collapsed into bed until Saturday.....
I got my notes to pass to my GP on the way out so I opened them and checked how it had gone (as I may have to wait several weeks for the follow-up appointment). The surgeons notes were "easy fill and spill of dye, no pelvic disorders, continue to next stage of treatment" so at least it was as I expected, all fine with the remaining tube. DH also used the opportunity of being at the hospital to do his sample to get our file up to date for the next appointment. So, looks like clomid next. Depends on how quickly my appointment comes through as to whether it is end of May or June that I start.
I promised the truth to all those about to have the same procedure. Well, I am back at work, with a bruised and tender tummy, nothing drastic, just need to be a little careful. I felt dreadfully sick for a few hours after the op from the anesthetic but since then just a bit tired all weekend really - and a HUGE tummy that started post-op at around 8 months pregnant and has deflated to its current size of about 4 months pregnant - how ironic ;) i was hoping to at least get offered a seat on the tube this morning but not even that! At least that shows me how I will be treated when I am really pregnant......hopefully very soon.....
Good luck, and ALM, don't worry xxx

Hi Kel  ,
OMG I've missed chatting to you, I hope you are well and enjoying the brief spells of summer weather we've been having  !
Thats great news about the LAP, I am thrilled things are going along so quickly. I hadn't read anything form you for ages now and wondered if you were still using the boards. I've heard great things about clomoid and got everything crossed that it will be THE solution. Sending you lots of love and luck, Princi xxx
