Hi
Before I start my next cycle, I thought of doing a little bit of research.
does anyone know anything about St. Luke Hospital in St. Louis, MO? I remember seeing many progs on Discovery Health and heard a lot about Dr. Sherman Silber? Is anyone from St. Louis on this Board or any idea about that Center? It's suppposed to be the top most center for IVF patients and I really wouldn't mind flying there to have a baby. I know it must be sounding crazy
any help/ comments will be appreciated!

I wish I knew Golds but if you find out please share the info. On one of the morning shows they are having a whole thing on infertility this week every morning. If you check the morning shows websites you may find out which one it is. I am going to look there too and see if I can get any more info. Today at my CT scan it was on and the was an RE talking....Good luck!!

Golds, I think that is a great idea to do some reseach on top docs in the US. I've heard of many people traveling far to go to the best. I have not heard anything about the person you mentioned in St Louis. My neighbor was telling me about a doctor in Denver who is supposed to be out of this world amazing... wish I remembered his name. Apparently he has a relationship with her RE (and now my RE!) in Scottsdale. My poor neighbor went through something like 7 IVF's in Chicago and then moved to Phoenix and was referred to our doctor who was previously the IVF medical Director at the Mayo clinic in Scottsdale. He got her preg with her little daughter immediately, and now just 2 years later she is expecting twins with what I think was her first frozen attempt with the same RE. Obviously she didn't need to commute to Denver, but she said she was more than ready if that's what it took!
When you do your research, I'd def recommend taking a hard look at the success rates published by the clinics and then confirm those are in line with what the CDC has posted. Good luck sweetie!

Yes Kathy, I have seen those progs on Discovery Health when I stayed home last week. They show 4 couples cycling together from different part of the US and some get BFPs some BFNs. They keep repeating those episodes and sometimes show new ones too.
Kathy, if someone replies back with some info - am sure we all will be benefited. Lets wait until we see some good advise from someone.
Kari: wow your neighbor tried 7 ivfs but am sure all worth it as she has a happy big family now :) Do you think we can get the name of her RE from somewhere? I can do search on him/her on the internet.

Hey Golds - Not sure of the RE who she had the 7 failed attempts with (surely you aren't looking for that info anyway ;) ), but I can tell you that the RE who brought her success is with arizona associates for reproductive health. I know that he is a true hero to her for having helped her with her miracles.
I'm gonna have to look for the shows that you and Kathy have seen on tv... I am always interested in watching shows that discuss IF.

hi, i did not go through Dr. Silber for ivf but i did go through Dr. Silber for an ovary transplant (i went through menopause by 25). i did fly to st. louis to be his patient, being i am not from st. louis. He is so nice and they are so knowledgeable in fertility issues. i would recommend him and his staff to everyone.

Thanks Stacy - I understand its all worth of an effort when it comes to having babies. I have seen many IVF progs. on the Discovery Health about Dr. Silber so was wondering if anyone has gone there for IVF.
Thanks again for sending a positive note on him.
