archelle 05-08-2007, 07:49 PM Is it worth it to buy a wipe warmer? If so, what brand? Thanks:) Sponsor dizzygirl 05-08-2007, 08:56 PM Hi there! I bought one with ds, and used it in the winter only. I have the Prince Lionheart from Babies R Us. I like it, but it really dries out the wipes, so if you don't go through them sooo fast, you wind up throwing them out, but in the winter, it was nice to have.:) Jonanner 05-09-2007, 01:58 AM We never bought a wipe warmer, but we did use a small space heater above the changing table (in the winter). aelliott 05-09-2007, 09:24 AM I had one with my first son, and the wipes ALWAYS dried out. I am due now with my 3rd and was considering getting another one, trying another brand. I then read that they are a major source of bacteria because of the moist heat and can cause infections, especially in girls. My sister in law experienced this. Her daughter continually had yeast infections and such. Not sure if it was connected, but I decided against getting it. I figured, we all survived with cold wipes, I'm sure my kids will as well!! mkgbrook 05-09-2007, 10:59 AM A ziploc bag and a quick 5-10 sec zap in the microwave dose the trick. We had a wipe warmer, but it kept drying the wipes out. the microwave was our best option and there was one everywhere we went. Sincerely, MG sweetea13 05-11-2007, 12:59 AM I also have the Prince Lionhart one. When my son was a newborn and since he was born December 30 I thought it was nice to have since his wipes were sooo cold. I just thought would I want to be wiped with a cold wipe? I would moisten the sponge that goes in the warmer often and then they didn't dry out. But if I let it dry out, the wipes would yellow and dry quick. mamaof4 05-11-2007, 09:30 AM I never had one, wanted one but thought never mind. Had 4 and they were all fine without one. I did think to myself well it's so cold, but hey everyone survives LOL. I really didnt like the bacteria so that scared me. |
