I was eating at the outback steakhouse 4 weeks back when about the time the check came i was in horrid pain on my right side. i go to the Er and they put me on some strong pain med and i had a US done. No stones but dr tells me that my GB is spazzing? Well i follow up with my PCP and he tells me he might think it is some c word sorry not good with medical terms and that i should see a surgen. After seeing the surgen they put me on anitbiotics(sp) and pain meds and get me a upper GI and a hida scan with Ejections Fraction.
Upper GI was that week so this is 3 weeks back and all was fine. Had my HIDA scan today and it took over 90 mins for the dye to get into my gallbladder. they didnt do the other injection because there was no enough dye to see my GB that good. so they let me go home. well im still in pain all the time on my right side and the antibiotics are gone. what should i tell the surgen when i call him tomorrow? Has this ever happend to anyone here? thanks for any info mike

Hi. I'm new here, and just saw your post. How did it go at the doctors office? Are you going to have to have it out?

I had a HIDA scan last week and it showed I had delayed emptying. It took a long time for my Gall bladder to show up too. I believe it was over an hour. They had me get up and walk around, they tilted the table, and finally they saw it (although I'm not sure it was a very clear picture).

I guess I don't have any answers to your questions. I just wanted to let you know that your not alone. I see the surgeon on the 21st. I will probably have mine out around the first of June.

I hope the doctor was able to give you answers and reassure you.

Good luck.:)

I had my HIDA scan done in March. They had to use morphine in order to see my gallbladder, and then they did the cck injection, and it showed I had an EF of 9.5%. Yeah, I had my gallbladder out 2 weeks after that. I am feeling much better now, but you might be glad they didn't do the cck. That stuff makes a lot of people feel like they are having a gallbladder attack if their gallbladder is bad. Mine felt SO horrible for weeks afterwards, until after the surgery. It has now been a month and a week since surgery. Feeling much better with that, but now I have kidney stones, but thats ok. That will hopefully be taken care of next week (the doctor thinks I have to have them blasted). Oh well. I will be healthy and painfree one day. Hope that both of your surgeries go well!!! Keep us posted!!

back from the dr and he said that my gallbladder is full of sludge. The thing that i dont understand is the pain that i am having almost all the time right where my gallbladder is. The surgen told me that it should not hurt to much if i dont eat fatty foods. well i havent eaten any fatty foods for 5 weeks now and i am still having pain. The pain at times is 12/10 on the pain scale. It gets so bad i want to go to the ER. Monday i find out when he wants to take out my GB i hope it is soon so i dont have to feel like this.. thanks for you posts mike

Mike

Sorry to hear your having problems. Before my GB was taken out, I was having symptoms no matter what I ate or drank (fatty or not). The only time I didn't have pain was when I hadn't eaten (1st thing in the am). I had a huge stone, but the GB itself was really nasty. If they do take it out, hopefully you'll be feeling better.
