View Full Version : Seems like forever, still no LEEP

(Just a reminder, I'm the 20 year old who found out I have severe dysplasia back in February.)

Anyway, I'm STILL waiting to get my Leep procedure. I was told I needed it back in March, but the soonest opening I could get was May 1. Well, it turned out that I had other health problems (DVT, PE, heart issues) that hospitalized me during that week. I called my doctor to reschedule and he said that now that I'm on Coumadin, I can't get it done.
(I have to be off of Coumadin for at least a week...but I have to take it for at least 6 months.)
I'm just worried about waiting that long...even though there's nothing I can do. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but am I being ridiculous for being concerned?

Hi, I wouldn't worry about the delay. It takes years for dysplasia to turn into cancer, if it even ever does.

I was diagnosed with moderate/severe dysplasia two years ago and never had any treatment at all. In June of last year, I had a normal colposcopy and a normal Pap. Then in December of last year, I had another bad Pap, and in February was diagnosed with carcinoma in situ (cancer which hasn't spread yet.) I just had my laser vaporization surgery yesterday, and the doctor assured us that he got it all.

Good luck with everything, and hang in there. :)

Hugs,

Lisa
