Have always suffered from these horrible saddlebags on the outside of my thighs (except when I got ill and down to 98lb's, but that looked awful cos I'm 5'11 tall)I know they can be removed by lipo, but don't really want to do that!
Does anyone know any type of exercise that might shift them?
I have 20lb's to lose to get down to a healthy weight and am dieting and walking but I know I will still have them after I lose the weight Please help if you can? Any ideas appreciated
Jules

You CANNOT spot reduce. Losing fat in one place is a myth. You have to lose fat everywhere and unfortunately our genes control where it comes and goes from first. Women tend to get hold fat the hips and thighs. Doing dome strength training with your legs might even out the look (squats, deadlifts etc) but you can't get rid of fat in just one area without resorting to surgery. Clean diet and cardio can help you get healthfully lean, however.

Thank you Naxis it was very kind of you to answer so quickly. I understand that I can't spot reduce with diet, but I have always done sit ups to keep my stomach flat and lifted small weights to keep my upper arms tight. I was just wondering if there is a similar exercise, I can do at home, to at least tighten these monstrosities up a bit(they might not look so out of proportion if they weren't so flabby)?

Try squats (with just bodyweight if you don't have/ are not comfortable with weights), lunges or walking lunges, kickbacks or try some HIIT! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif

riding my stationary bike with resistance really took the heaviness off my saddlebags.
