View Full Version : Didn't take care of my teeth.

Big mistake I know. They are all in bad shape but three of them on the right side are totally rotten and have broken areas. They had abscesses twice and the dentists gave me antibiotics(but didn't want to pull them) Do these pose an immediate threat to my health? The abscesses have stopped happening but I don't know if the root died or what? I'm afraid to go back to the dentist because I know i'll get chewed out for letting my teeth rot at such a young age and i've always been afraid of dental visits. I just want them pulled but it seems there is no easy way to get it done.

Hi,

I know exactly how you feel about fearing the dentist....I am totally afraid. However....when you had your 3 teeth abscess what did the doctor say? Where are the teeth located? Molars?

Perhaps a root canal and cap/crown could be placed (if the tooth is not totally gone). Please fill us in more so we can give you some questions/suggestions.

I hate the dentist too but now I'm 43 and I am in need of probably major work which is way too expensive for the average middle class person to afford. So what do I do now? Let my teeth fall out?

Give me so info. How old are you and what did the dentist say?

Pulling your teeth should always be a last resort. When your teeth are gone, your face begins to age rapidly. The bones of your jaw and face begin to fuse together and your face looks sunken.. even with dentures. I would not recommend you do that.
