Hi gals/guys,

Can anyone make any suggestions on how to loose the tummy fat. I work out and I have lost a few inches by walking but are there any work outs to speed up the process?
I read that crunches are good for the abs, but if there are any other suggestion out there. I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Unfortunately, we can't spot reduce.

If you wanna lose the fat from your tummy, you're gonna have to lose it from all over by doing cardio. Crunches will tighten/tone the muscles but they'll still be covered in a layer of fat.

Eating cleaner will also help (plenty of lean meat, veggies, some fruit, etc. and cut back on the 'man-made' carbs, such as bread, pasta, cookies, etc.).

Good Luck!

Just to support the above poster... you can't spot reduce. So if you want to lose fat, you're going to have to lose it all over your body.

Well, I am definitely trying to lose weight. Have lost a lot already, just have not noticed a huge difference in my tummy, so I though I was doing something wrong.

But thank you for your input.

So if I keep doing crunches, it means it won't be noticeable?

Doing crunches will definately strengthen your abs and make them a little bigger. That may help with things alot.

To lose that layer of fat which covers your abs, you must keep doing cardio. Unfortunately, your genes basically determine where your body stores fat, and from where it looses it. The tummy is usually where it "likes" to store the fat http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif Just keep at it, it will come of eventually.
