My husband had his discogram and even though it was painful he now knows he needs more surgery to repair the L5-2 disc. He said the test itself did hurt...but no more than the pain he is already having...it was the two days after that have been the worse. He said it feels like right after his fusion...but all in all he is glad he had it done. (...and he has been taking lots of oxycontin!...)..thanks for all of your prayers!

Well atleast he now knows whats going on, and causing the pain. Good to hear. I am sorry though, that it will mean more surgery, but hopefully it will get rid of the pain he's in.

You know the more and more I hear about a discogram they are worth its weight in gold. Now you have a clear picture of where the pain is coming from and now you can move forward confidently in his treatment knowing what discs are the culprits.

Yes they are going to want to do another fusion. The pain dr. said they would probably extend the one he already has with the L4 and L5. We see the pain dr. on the 23rd and then I am sure he will send him next door to see the surgeon to discuss it firther with him. The w/c nurse was NOT happy to hear the words "more surgey" though! I guess we shall see what mood she is on the 23rd!
