JAM82 05-12-2007, 04:58 AM Hi Everyone:wave: ,
Hope you are all doing ok:
Those who are still in the 2ww-hang in there my fingers are crossed:)
And those who are not i too have joined the club and it sucks:confused:
I dont understand why this has failed again and it hurts really really bad.
Ive had cramps a few on fri,a few on sat and af is in full flow today its really bloody irritating cause thats the first time shes showed two months in a row!!(b/c of pcos)
Dh and i had a discussion when getting the last round about wether we will try iui again if it fails this time b/c i get the migranes from hell :dizzy: with all the hormones and we really dont feel its working for us and are not confident it ever will,we also have a appt coming up with another hospital that specialises in icsi as we will have reached the top of their list in a few months. We feel we will have a better chance with that as they originally said dh had low motillity so we are not even sure if they have/can fertilise the egg(i can only assume they wouldnt do it otherwise).
We have decided tho that we will keep going deep down not having a child hurts so much more emotionally than the migranes do physically, poor dh hates to see me unwell tho.
I have a question for you guys do you think a folicle at 3.0 will hold a bigger egg than one at 1.6???? b/c they have done my iui with the lower size and i just wonder if i stand a better chance if they try to grow them for longer.
Well thanks for listening to my ranting on i feel a bit better allready.
x
Amy 333 05-12-2007, 08:28 AM Oh Jam
I am so sorry that af showed her ugly face. You were due for your beta on monday i think ..
I can t answer any of your questions re iui etc since i have no idea but just wanted to offer you my support.
I know the emotion toll of IF its not easy. BUT you will have a child let that thought keep you going......
Thinking and praying for you.

lahc1 05-12-2007, 09:27 AM Jam,
I am so sorry. I don't understand why this week has been so bad for everyone either. You all deserve to mommies now and I don't get why we all have to struggle so much.
I think they must measure the follicles different in the US because with my IUIs I've always had numbers like 18, 19, or so. But in my experience, I've been told the bigger follicles are more llikely to hold a mature egg. But that doesn't mean the smaller ones won't, it's just the chances are lower the smaller it gets.
Hang in there and know I am thinking about you today. Take some time for yourself and DH this weekend.

Viktorria 05-12-2007, 10:08 AM Jam, I'm so sorry. In general, IVF rates are more successful than IUI rates, so maybe you should consider that route. There is obviously more of an emotional (the drugs made me cry all the time) and financial commitment in IVF, but for a healthy baby it's worth it. My son was also an ICSI baby, that's really all my clinic does. They believe that the fertilization process is better with ICSI than it is naturally. I worried about it at first, but he's perfectly normal and healthy and recent studies are saying that there are really no adverse effects from ICSI.
Try to have a good weekend!
Hey Jam!
just a quick note about follicle size.....i know you are probably using a different measuring system because it looks like your 3.0 would be 30 for us, your 1.6 would be a 16 for us? my RE always said any follicle over 23 is probably not going to be able to be used for IUI because when it gets that big the egg is too mature - not useful. he always wanted them between 16 and 22. so it looks like there is a range of optimal sized follicles. i hope that helps.
JAM82 05-12-2007, 12:03 PM Thanx everyone for your continued support.
Your right next time will be better im trying accupuncture!
In relation to the size i think i get an actual injection to mature the egg, but im sure they know what they are doing im just looking for faults in everything.
With reguards to the financial implications of if im in a lucky position the the health service will provide 6 iui and 3 icsi for me(due to our taxes ect) its
the emotional strain and feeling unwell but i will grin and bear it.

Sillygirl554 05-12-2007, 03:55 PM BETA is supposed to be tomorrow but since it is a Sunday and Mother's day I have to wait until Monday morning. To be honest I am not looking forward to it. I feel as though it is going to be another BFN but I am keeping my fingers crossed just in case.

Mapia74 05-12-2007, 07:32 PM Hi Jam I am so sorry that witch showed.I am right there with u this month this BFN really hurt.It felt like I had been hit by a truck no joke.I just wished and prayed for u girls to get BFP life just seems so unfair for us here on the boards. This past month we all thought was going to be good and so far it has been real sad. There is nothing much we can do but keep fighting. We also must stay positive no matter how hard it seems at times we have to.We will win this fight against IF.
Thats good u will have an opportunity to do IVF.So keep positive my girl cause IVF has much better success.Take care of urself and if u need to cry just cry let it out.I cried a lot and now I am feeling a little better.Well good luck and keep us posted.

Kari15 05-13-2007, 08:06 PM Jam - So sorry hun. I truly feel your pain and it sure does hurt. AF also showed for me this weekend... hit full force right before I was about to walk in for a massage  Well I knew she was coming cause of BFN on Thursday, but seriously the timing was just the worst! I was really hoping that I would get home from my trip and maybe see a BFP from you or Stephanie. I am so frustrated right now with all this IF stuff, but Mapia is right and we have to try to stay positive. I will keep my fingers crossed that your next cycle will be the one for you.
