I have a 1 year old son. I want to know what do you feed your baby the whole day. What type of snacks is best for them? My son is very active and healthy but his weight is in the 10-25 percentile though his height is in the 95 percentile. The Dr. said he is absolutely fine though i sometimes worry as his weight is little low.

Hi there! I have a 13 month old. She's a bit on the heavy side ;), but I'm not worried. I wouldn't worry myself too much about weight. As long as your doc says it's fine and your ds is getting a variety of food, all should be good. My dd loves fruit, she eats grapes (halved, seeded) everyday. And oranges, I cut it in chunks and she loves to self feed. She likes to eat oatmeal with us in the morning and then she has a few snacks during the day. Usually fruit, cheerios (plain ones) with or without yogurt, rye toast, cheese, carrot circles steamed very soft - she loves 'em! I make chicken soup with carrots, potato, celery, onions and a bit of garlick and freeze it in portions. She loves anything soupy. I do the same kind of thing with minced beef, but it's not a real soup. That's the only way she takes her veggies. She tries what we have just about every night, but she sticks to the usuals. Good luck, and don't worry too much!

I wouldn't worry too much about your son's low weight, especially if the doctor is not worried. I have 2 kids and their weights' were SO different. When my oldest turned 1 he was 30 pounds. When my 2nd turned 1 he was 18 pounds. He's still so tiny now that he's 2 and not yet at 30 pounds, but he is 100% healthy! The best thing my doctor does is that he NEVER looks at percentiles. He thinks they are crap since every child is so different. He's older, so he isn't so worried about the same things that the younger doc's worry about today. There was a really great article in Parenting Magazine that compared 10 month old children and how different they all were. It's amazing the different sizes they come in! Enjoy your baby and before you know it, you'll be constantly buying new clothes to keep up with the growth spurts!

My dd just turned 13 mo. We have her checkup tomorrow, but I think she is right around 20lbs. and 29" (kind of petite). She drinks a lot of Organic Cows Milk (now that I'm done nursing her as of about 3 weeks ago :)
She eats a lot of bananas, cantelope, watermelon, strawberries, peeled apples (she only has 2 bottom teeth), pasta, dried cereals, whole milk yogurt, Kashi blueberry waffles, goldfish, frozen veggies warmed-up, Turkey hot dogs, Vegiterian foods (soy bologna, hot dogs, etc).

She'll eat about anything I give her lately. I'm sure your baby is perfect, and will eat when he is hungry. Don't stress!:)
