Ok, so I have been having the following symptoms: chest pains, bloating in upper abdomen, a week of not being able to get a deep breath.
so I had an ultrasound, everything came back ok. They then scheduled me for a HIDA scan, they still suspected gb. I had that and it showed my ef rate at 24% and normal is 35% to 70%..... so they sent me to a surgeon to see about having it out. Just got back from the surgeon and he stated he didn't think he should do surgery at this time. He is not convinced it is my gallbladder. I don't seem to have the "attacks" as others, etc. I have mild discomfort, etc. and he scheduled me for an endoscope..... so I am back at square one:( I just feel so frustrated and want to feel good again.. it has been awhile. I was actually looking forward to having my gb out and possibly feeling ok again.... now I have no "answer"
When the doc was pushing on my stomach he acted as though maybe something was askew, etc. He mentioned my aorta, and said something about "making sure it was the right size" and maybe doing a cat scan... he then asked if I had an ultrasound I stated yes, in that building, so he went and looked at the results, and said my aorta was the normal size..... scared me, I mean did he feeling something was off in there, etc?!?!? I don't know......

Get another surgeon. Your HIDA scan is below normal. Just because you don't have attacks doesn't mean its not your GB. I didn't really have the classic attacks either and my ultrasound was normal. My gall bladder was absolutly full of tiny stones. But because my HIDA scan showed that it needed to come out, out it came. You might see about a upper GI or endoscopy if you haven't had one, but get another surgeon.

Ok, Well... I Am Going Through All The Same As Ou Are Rite Now, I Just Got My Blood Work Back As Well As My Ultra Sound Results... Nothing!!! Was All Good. My Dr Has Me Doing A 14 Day Round Of The Prilosec Otc, I Am Having The Same As You, No Real Pain, Just A Weird Discomfort Like Feeling Sometimes. She Thinks I May Have An Ulcer, Or Maybe Even Hiatle Hurnia. I Just Took My First Prilosec This Morning, I Will Let You Know How It Works For Me. You Know, Some People Are Just Way More Gassy And Sensitive Then Others, So Maybe We Just Feel More Then Others When It Comes To Our Digestive Track. I Also Have Ibs, So That Don't Help... But At Least I Don't Feel Like It's A Lost Cause, And You Should Either. I Am Here If You Want To Talk, It Helps To Compair With Someone Who Is Going Through The Same Exact Thing As You... Take Care, And God Bless...

It is reassruing to know that I am not the only one out there looking for some kind of answer:) I hope we all find it soon!!!!!!
I am worried about the hardness in my abdomen area, and have tons of anxiety over it.... seems both docs felt something hard, etc. the first doc ordered an ultrasound though and they say everything looks normal... I am wondering if the ultrasound can ruke out any kind of mass, etc????
I feel helpless after thinking it could be my gallbladder and I would have it out and feel better, etc. but now, I just don't know, sounds like the surgeon doesn't think it is the gb:( I don't know. Pretty soon I will have had every test in the book!!!! :)

DOn't be upset b/c the one surgeon said that. Mine said the same thing. My ef was only 16% but the surgeon wasn't convinced it was my gallbladder that was causing the pain and pressure in my upper abdomen/chest area, as well as alot of nausea. I also had a lot more pain on my left side and the surgeon said I didn't have "classic" gallbladder symptoms but since my ef was so low, it clearly needed to come out since it wasn't working. I have talked to so many people I know that had similar problems as me and were not the "classic" symptoms but it clearly was the gallbladder.
I agree that I would try to get a second opinion. In the mean time, have the endoscopy. I don't know anything about the hardness since that only ever happened to me when I was pregnant.
Good luck

I made an appt. to go and see my colon doc ( I do have ulceritive proctitis) and see what he suggests as well....
I also have an appt Mon. with my family doc to get bloodwork done ( part of my physical I had scheduled, even before all of the symptoms came about ) so I will question my family doc about this as well.......
I wish they could just do a complete body scan and figure it out:) You have to go thru soooo many different tests.....
The stomach hardness, I suppose could be fat... my doc kinda ( this is funny, the nurse from my docs office just called and I said "I have a fat pad in my stomach right? It isn't something bad?" and she said "Yeah, it is just fat, they looked at the ultrasound and saw nothing" I said "they would be able to see if there was something bad there right?" and she said "yes" I am paranoid)
