have had acid reflux since october 06. had never before suffered indigestion or heartburn. had endoscopy had was told had a sliding hiatus hernia.
have been on nexium 40mg for 6 months. it takes some of the acid away but still have constant feeling of reflux. somedays its like something stuck in throat, other days like acid in throat. wouldn't mind taking the nexium if it worked but these constant symptoms are driving me mad. anyone else had same?

You need to try the double dose of Nexium, a total of 80 mg a day.
You'll want to try taking the doses together in the morning and see how you feel. If that doesn't help, try separating the doses into a morning and evening dose.
I agree with aswander, but if you don't want to take such a high dose, you could ask your doc about taking 40mg Nexium in morning and Ranitidine (Zantac) at night.

Nexium did absolutely nothing for me, either. I'm on OTC meds now.

Watch for trigger foods. For me coffee more than once a day plus a little fatty food and the pills stop working. Also how much water are you drinking? At least 6 glasses a day to keep your insides cool. And how late are you eating? I try not to eat within 2 hours of bedtime and it makes a big change.

I was on Nexium twice a day (40mg each dose) and it helped for about a month.. switched to Zegerid twice a day 40 mg and it helps more.. I also add Pepcid AC on days that it feels bad and all of this together has helped..
