Hi there,
I have suffered/been aware of "skipped beats" of my heart for a few years now. I have had an ECG, an echo and an event monitor - all coming through with normal results.
I am a 26 year old active male and there is no history of heart problems in my family.
Ever since last week however I have been experiencing a new sensation.
When sitting at my desk at work I experience a brief shortness of breathe followed by palpitations that feel like a sudden increase in my heart rate..as opposed to skipped beats..they definetly feel different.
They were pretty severe yesterday, so I went to my doctor. Murphys law when I get there my heart rate is back to normal and they couldntpick up anything. My doc said next time they occur I should race there and tey can do an ECG...
I have been having them today again, not as severe though...but I cant just rush out of work and get there (around 10km drive) and take a risk that maybe they will still be there...
I am thinking that if they keep happening regularly maybe I need to have another event monitor so that they can track them..
Maybe some of you experience what I do and there is a better strategy that I can take?
Thanks for listening.
