Hi

I have been feeling nauseous for about one month, my stomach is tender just under the sternum and I feel hungry all the time, my stomach is making lots of noise also. I went to my doctor a week ago and he gave me omeprazole 20mg once a day and said my stomach sounded very active. I also had to provide a stool for H pylori and this has come back negative.

The tablets worked well for the first week, however now on day 8 of the treatment the nausea and stomach pain is back. I also have a problem with recurring hemorrids, have had two operations to band them in the last 8 months and they started to flare up yesterday and my stomach problems started again last night, but are uncontrollable today.

Can anyone shed some light on my problems? I am worried about them, I am 30 female and up until recently I was working out 5 times a week, walking miles everyday and just lately I don’t have the same energy levels. I am also a strict vegetarian and I don’t drink alcohol (always had heartburn after touching a drop) and I drink plenty of water.

Any advice would be good, thanks in advance.

Sorry you're having such problems but I can definately relate.

I am a 37 year old very healthy mom of 4. I have always had a sensitive stomach but 2 year ago I started having mild stomach pains, upset stomachs, headaches, dizziness, chest discomfort and shakiness. My PCP suggested it was anxiety. I joined a gym to relieve stress since I didn't want to take meds. It helped but a few months later it came back. That happened on and off for about 1 1/2 years. This past Dec I had BAD chest discomfort and pressure in the top of my stomach, along with bad nausea. Then my dr suggested it was acid reflux and tried me on Aciphex. After 1 month, I was feeling bad again. He tried Protonix and Nexium. Neither worked at all. They did an ultrasound, upper GI and finally a HIDA scan for the gallbladder. That showed my EFR was only 16% and said I need it to come out. I just had it taken out 1 week ago today, so it's too early to tell whether it's worked or not. I just wanted to add my story and to say that I also had very loud sounds coming from my stomach, as well as losing weight. My neighbor actually thought I was anorexic.

Good luck finding a cause

hi

thanks for the reply.

I am putting weight on as I have to keep eating when my stomach is feeling bad.

I am dreading going back to the hospital, I imagine I will get the same team that tried to fix my piles, and I was a nightmare. I suppose they could try and fix both ends for me whilst I am there!

I am going tp keep working out, even though I don't feel like it and I have been having massages and stuff to help me relax, but nothing is helping.

Hope you feel better soon

Melly x

You're better then me when it comes to working out. Between feeling very sick and having 4 kids, I pretty much stopped going to the gym all together. I actualyl froze my membership until September, which means I don't have to pay until I come back but I won't have to pay any new fees. That gives me all summer to recover from the surgery AND summer vacation for the kids.

I had the exact feeling of beng hungry all the time but I felt sick. If you've ever been pregnant, it was the same feeling as morning sickness to me. I was a lot worse if I was really hungry. I had to force myself to eat b/c I knew I would feel better afterwards.

Good luck.
