Amen to that! Thanks for your post. Prayer is so powerful. I also find that Omega 3's help me - especially if I eat fish. Music and exericse are also soothing to me.

Praise God! He has delivered me from so much of the ocd. I have very very few obsessions and just a few residual compulsions left.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we all prayed for each other on this board? Honestly, I do that a lot on my own. My heart goes out to each and every one on here, especially when I feel their suffering and some of them go through a lot of what I have gone through. We could all stand on the word of God for His healing and stand in agreement with each other. We have to fight back!

I think we need to keep this positive thread going. I'd be happy to pray for all who need prayer tonight. Why don't we list our usernames and prayer request needs for our OCD? It is not the will of God for us to suffer like this.

Thank you, that is sweet of you!:) :)
I hope the praying isn't a compulsion for anybody. I know, OCD can get into so many parts of our lives. And "scrupulosity" was a well-known "disorder" even in the olden days.
Do you guys ever have to make sure that the praying isn't "OCD.infected", or whatever you might call that?
I remember "having to" light candles for people so much that I had to tell myself, no candles for a while, because THAT IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF MY FAITH, THAT IT SHOULD BECOME COMPULSIVE!

Part of my ritual with my pure O and intrusive thought is prayer. So I try to refraim from praying 150 times a day.

Hey, I wonder though now: You say you have "pure O", but wouldn't the praying be a compulsion/ritual?
Or do you really experience it as "intrusive thoughts"?
(By the way, I hope I am not offending anybody by starting to use technical OCD language in this post. I want to make clear that I do NOT believe at all that praying in general is a "compulsion". We need to separate "real praying" very clearly from OCD rituals. I think this is very important. So that the "real thing" doesn't get "infected" with OCD... and cause anxiety.)
So I am starting a new paragraph now that is OCD free! (I hope;) ) And I am sednign a PRAYER out to all of you!!!

I think we need to keep this thread going. I am also a member of a Christian prayer group on-line and we all pray for each other. Prayer is so very powerful. OCD is not fun and I truly do not believe it is the will of God to see us suffer like this. I guess we all go through our trials and tribulations, though. I thank God every day that He is healing me of this horrible disorder. I'm trying to keep my faith...

I'd be happy to keep everyone in prayer here. Remember, the word of God says By His stripes we are healed. I know my faith sustains me - without it, I would be nothing and have no hope.
