Does acid reflux only hurt or cause discomfort after you eat?

I've been feeling great after the gallbladder removal last week, but yesterday and today I'm feeling a little off. I have the discomfort in my chest and upper stomach again. I'm also feeling like I can't catch my breath. Fortunately I'm not nauseated. The feeling is here whether I've eaten or not.

I guess it could be anxiety like the dr originally suspected that is bothering me. I do feel very anxious since yesterday. Maybe it's all the laying around after the surgery. I'm ready to get up and start doing things again.

After my brother in law had his gallbladder removed they put him on Protonix for a month. They said that his body might need some help adjusting to the bile since the gallbladder was no longer there. You might be having some bile reflux....
I know that is uncomfortable cause that is what I have (Bile Reflux) and take meds for:)
