Hi all -

Over the past 4 months I have had unprotected anal sex with two men. Both times I was the top. I didn't climax during either. Now, I am seeing someone who has been honest with me and taken the test and I was honest with them and today I took the test.

Being British, we have to wait 2 weeks now to find out the results and my mind is now in overdrive. Every passing thought is 'what if...' and it is tearing me apart!

I suppose reading all the different websites about HIV and the possible symptoms doesn't help. Just wondered if someone could give me some advice about the percentile risk of being infected with HIV through unprotected anal sex.

Both men swore they were clean and safe. Whilst I know I shouldn't have been weak - boy, am I paying for it now - I just want these next 13 days to be over with. :confused:

the odds are with you that your ok,there was a risk so there is always that chance.don't waste your time symptom chasing on the internet,nothing good can come of it and it won't tell you anything to diagnosing hiv.
just keep busy and your fingers crossed and before you know it the time will pass. good luck with the test

Thanks for the words. I was in a bit of a panic last night. A good night's sleep has cleared my head. :)

God - the wait really puts you through an emotional ringer! My results won't come in until next Wednesday and the mixed emotions - one saying I could have something (although I think the chest infection I have caught is more a mixture of stress, fatigue and general illnesses running through the office) and one reminding me that the odds are in my favour from the small amount of insertive anal sex I took part in.

It's been interesting and reassuring to read the board and there are some people doing a wonderful job on here, I cannot imagine the things some people have been through!

My thoughts are with everyone going through this or other HIV related worries at this time. :)

I have had the text from the local GUM Clinic and the results have come back negative on all counts. Really happy right now. I wish everyone going through this wait receives the same news I have today. The sun is shining brighter now than it has over the last 14 days, that's for sure.
