Ok, so my GYN called me back after I had my colposcopy about 2 weeks ago, and it confirmed I have moderate dysplasia, and inflamation. She told me I was going to have to get the LEEP done. They are going to put me under for this but she told me the procedure would last about 5 minutes. I'm not so nervous about it because i've gone under before. I just wanted to know if I could expect any pain afterwards or bleeding or anything like that.

I had the LEEP and I had almost no bleeding after the procedure which I found strange. I had no cramping, just a few days of lightly pink colored blood, and some darker looking stuff which again was light.

i was not put out for the procedure but they did give me something to calm me down in the form of a little white pill placed in my mouth. I was awake for the entire procedure.

The only slight pain was when she was inserting the numbing medication into my cervix.

I had my leep and was awake and had no medication other than the numbing shot...which wasnt half as bad as I thought it would be! I had a good amount of cramping for about a week (just like a bad period) and bleeding for 2 weeks, then a charcoal-ish discharge for another 2 (which I assume was due to the cautizeration). All in all, it wasnt awful but it wasnt the best either. It is quick, I will tell you that! I promise, you WILL be fine! Keep your head up!
