Hello - My father, soon 79, was diagnosed with difuse large B cell lymphoma in January. He had two abdominal tumors (one about the size of a football), which with 6 rounds of CHOP-R/Retuxin are now about a third the size they were. After the latest CAT scan, the doctor is taking him off chemo and recommending he join the clinical study for Enzastaurin. This "maintenance" drug is supposed to be showing some promise in helping keep cancer in remission. If you're participating in this study, we would be very interested in hearing from you regarding your experience with the study and the drug in particular. Thank you very much.

I am not in the study, but I know a little about it. It belongs to the families of drugs called protein kinase inhibitors and angiogenesis inhibitors. Also called enzastaurin hydrochloride and LY317615. Its used to treat brain tumors and its being reseached for the treatment of colon cancer, and so far shows promising results for recurrent high grade gliomas. I'm sorry I have not yet been educated in enzastaurin hydrochloride being a maintenance drug, I just believe that the more patients and their families know their condition and what they are being treated with the better. Let me know how everything goes.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers
