I went to the doctor today to see about switching my migraine meds. While I was there she was listening to my heart and heard my PVC's. This is a normal thing for me, I'm 27 years old and my heart has NEVER beat normal for as long as I can remember, it's always just had a very abnormal beat, no one can tell me why. (I had my thyroid tested last year and it came back normal.) I've had 2 EKG's in the past and both doctors sent me away saying all was fine.. Today this doctor also decided she would like an EKG done and then decided she wanted to treat them. The med she put me on was Atenolol, she said she was putting me on that because it would help my migraines, and also slow my heart beat (which was 100), lower my blood pressure, which was only slightly high (I can't remember the top number but the bottom was 70) and it would also stop the PVCs. I just don't understand why she's worried about them when no other doctor ever has been! I've always heard they aren't any big deal, and not really anything to worry about. Why treat them??
