anyone get this?? when im really panicky my arms kind of get a "stiff" feeling and they feel really heavy. i know this could be because of tension and maybe im subconsciously (sp) tightening them but they feel heavy when im really suffering from anxiety. anyone else get this? im getting a mri done next week on my head to rule out ms but i really think it could be from anxiety. im scared though.

I have that right now, and was wondering if anxiety can cause this. Let me know waht your results were.

I get this. And a weak feeling too. I know it is muscle tension from anxiety, but it is so physical!

i havent gone for my mri yet, it's rescheduled for next week but i notice when im anxious or panicky, it's almost like my hand and arms tense up and become kind of stiff. what scared me was a few weeks ago during a really bad panic attack my arms were so heavy i couldnt really lift them. i really think it's due to extreme anxiety. my gp doesnt really deal with anxiety and depression issues, as soon as i said i had both anxiety and depression he immediatly referred me to a psych. i really think all this has to do with anxiety but im willing to get the mri anyways bc i would like to know for sure. if anyone else has this problem i would really like to hear about it. thanks.

Yes, that is a common symptom of anxiety. I had jelly arms and legs when I suffered from anxiety about 3 years ago. It took a while for it to get better, but I found that the less I worried about it, the better it got!!! It is a cruel disease...manifesting itself in many different ways. Best wishes to you guys....Jitterygal:angel:
