If no meds. help then u may want to see a dr. U can go to a walk-in clinic and they should be able to give you something to help break it up. If it continues to happen, then u need to see a Neurolgist or even an internal med. doc. I don't know if you've already taken the advil w/the Excedrin, but if you haven't tried both at the same time than try it. Make sure it's regular Excedrin bcuz the tension ha one doesn't have the asprin in it which is sometimes needed to get the blood flowing easier thru the veins in brain. Also, lay in a cool dark room w/ice pack over your eyes or neck. tUrRrRa 05-31-2007, 06:58 PM Hey Jedigirl, Check my post on the thread about tension headaches from today. I used to only be able to take Advil liquigels because things like Tylenol weren't helping me at all.. but now I'm getting used to the Advil as well! I used to take Advil migraine and just switched over to Excedrin migraine, which seems to HELP but isn't making them go away and I still have a headache. It's been three days of it! I will definitely look into trying the two together if you think it will help. I can't take prescription meds for them unfortunately because I take anti-depressants. georgee 05-31-2007, 11:36 PM I have had a massive headache for quite a few days now. It is majorly intense throbbing. Any one have any suggestions? Maybe you are having a migraine? Sometimes they can last for days with a horrible throbbing sensation. I have read that certain foods or tension can trigger them. I am a migraine sufferer myself for 20 years now. I cannot take anti-imflammatory drugs like Advil or Ibuprophen because I have Diverticulitus, an intestinal disorder. I have had best results by going to a chiropractor for an adjustment. My headaches seem to stem from my neck and shoulder area, probably from stress and tension. My problem though is often I will wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning with these awful headaches, when the chiropractor is closed. So I have a prescription from my Primary Doctor for Valium 10 mg, of which I take with 2 Tylenol when this happens. Usually this pill combo will work, but when it does not I head for the chiropractor for relief. By the way, my Primary Doctor does not believe in chiropractors, but in my case I can vouch it works! |
