Can too much acid in your throat and mouth that is caused by GERD result in the corners of your mouth to crack?

Do you have any solutuions to this symptom or opinions?

I have never experienced crack in the mouth, but one time when I felt the acid was bad, I could see my tounge was white. My doctor told me to drink water more often, maybe you can try that too. At night when I feel the acid in my mouth, I drink water and it goes away.
